      Dundee 1 - 0 Wigan Athletic

The Dark Blues had an encouraging 1-0 win over English League One side Wigan Athletic in tonight's friendly at Dens Park. Rory Loy scored the only goal after 70 minutes in a much improved performance by the Dark Blues. Wigan looked the best side that the Dee have faced so far in this pre-season campaign and the Latics will rightly feel they should have done better. However, some excellent Dundee defending and slack Wigan finishing gave the Dee the win.

      Dundee 1 - 2 Hearts

The Dark Blues went down to a disappointing 2-1 defeat at home to Hearts in the season's first league game at Dens. Dundee had the better of the first half and led at half time through an early Kane Hemmings header. Two goals by Juanma early in the second half gave Hearts the lead and they successfully killed the game after that. Most of the good football and entertainment came in a thrilling first half, but the way Hearts ground out their win in the second half will have delighted their supporters and shows that they will be a strong force in this season's Premiership.

      Dundee United 2 - 2 Dundee

Dundee came storming back from the dead in a derby thriller at Tannadice when James McPake forced home a 93rd minute equaliser to send the Dark Blue support into delirium. The game seemed well beyond the Dee when Blair Spittal scored two quick-fire goals for United midway through the second half. But the Dark Blues didn't give up and Greg Stewart's wonderful goal after 81 minutes set up a marvellous finish in which Dundee grabbed the point they richly deserved over the full 94 minutes.

James McPake and Kane Hemmings gave the Dee a deserved two goal lead at half time, only for Steven MacLean to pull a goal back early in the second half. A solid Dark Blue defence kept Saints at bay after that and the Dee passed up great chances that would have killed the game well before the final whistle.

Dundee went down 2-0 to Aberdeen at Pittodrie this afternoon, in their poorest performance of the season so far. Adam Rooney scored both the Dons' goals, a header midway through the second half, and an injury time penalty. Gary Harkins' red card for the foul that gave away the penalty completed a poor afternoon for the Dark Blues, who only came anywhere near their best in the second half.
