East Fife 1 - 1 Dundee (Betfred Cup)

Dundee's Betfred Cup campaign got off to a poor start in a 1-1 draw at East Fife, with the Dark Blues losing out on the bonus point in the penalty shoot-out. East Fife came back strongly in the last 30 minutes and Kevin Smith equalised with 13 minutes left. Home keeper William Muir won the extra point for the Fifers with two saves in the shoot-out.

      Dundee 6 - 2 Dumbarton (Betfred Cup)

Dundee thrashed Dumbarton 6-2 at Dens Park today in a Betfred Cup tie of wildly contrasting halves. The Sons were worth their 2-1 lead at half time with goals from Frazer Wright and Gregor Buchanan after Greg Stewart had put the Dee ahead. In the second half the Dark Blues' attacking game clicked and they blew Dumbarton away with five goals in a terrific performance. Kane Hemmings scored twice, Greg Stewart completed his hat trick with two more goals and Darren O'Dea scored his first for the club.

      Dundee 7 - 0 Forfar (Betfred Cup)

For the second Saturday running Dundee served up a feast of goals as they pummelled Forfar Athletic 7-0 in the Betfred Cup at Dens Park. The Dark Blues were in total control from the start and enjoyed a 3-0 lead at half time with goals from Paul McGowan, Michael Duffy and Greg Stewart. There was no easing up in the second half as Julen Etxabeguren, Greg Stewart, Rory Loy and Yordi Teijsse added four more goals. Sadly that wasn't enough to keep the Dee in the cup following results elsewhere, but the players could hardly have done more on the day.

Paul McGowan put the Dee further ahead after half time only for Craig Curran to pull a quick goal back. However, Dundee put in a solid, professional performance to close the game out to the delight of the noisy and enthusiastic travelling support.

Dundee will reflect sadly on their luck after hitting the woodwork four times before Hearts took the lead.
