A last chance to play at the highest level at the one club where he was most appreciated? I think he'd be delighted to be given that opportunity.

One GGH masterclass (like when he stepped up to inspire a trouncing of Partick at Firhill after KT walked) might even be enough to justify his return.

He loves playing his old teams so I'd put money on him delivering in the last two six-pointers against St Mirren.

A front three of GGH, Kenny Miller & Kris Doolan would certainly offer us guile and craft plus bags of experience. A combined age of 105yrs would probably make them the oldest front three in our history.

Would Elton or Nabi keep Harkins out the team? I doubt it.

Would Harkins be more effective than McGowan as a number 10 in the second half of the season? I'm almost certain he would.

Wighton is gone so we need to bring in a cheap and available playmaker and I think we could do a lot worse than bringing back GGH. You don't lose the ability to unlock a defence with a bit of magic when you turn 33.

Harkins wont be cheap

Not a bad shout.

Merry Christmas everyone!

Would be a strange shout, I'm not sure JM has any 'past' with GGH.

For what its worth, if GGH has the legs for some 30 minutes cameos or even for a first half then he might be an asset, we know he's got a great football brain, its only been the legs that have been doubtful. I've no idea if he's up to speed but he's one of my favourite recent Dee's so if it was doable I'd love to see him back. Can't see it though.

We've brought in guys like Gary Irvine & Kevin McNaughton, who've no real past with JM, for coaching roles plus we've got boys like Darren O'Dea, James Mcpake and Garry Ogilvie coaching too.

I'm not too sure it'd really matter, if JM wanted Harkins here, whether they had a past or not.
