When was the last time you saw play like this from a winger at Dens? This kid Jack Clarke has just turned 18 and already looks like the real deal.

This narrow stuff we see nowadays is nonsense. Get the ball out wide and stretch things, get to the by-line and get balls in. We used to have what seemed like a conveyor belt of boys who could do that in their sleep. Even fringe players like wee nipper Lawrence would skin fullbacks at will. Remember he left the then Rangers left back (could've been Munro) for dead at Dens, got to the by-line and planted a great cross on to Ian Angus's head for a great but bloody simple goal. I think the ball went from our box to the back of their net with no more than half a dozen touches.

On another note but still regarding Leeds/Derby I see the FA are investigating after Leeds sent a spy (with binoculars 🕵️‍♀️) to the Derby training ground in the run up to last night's game. Leeds foreign manager has said that this is common practice on the continent and Derby's Frank Lampard has publicly played down it's significance saying simply that Derby didn't play well enough. Will be interesting to see how this one plays out.

Is there really that much of a difference between somebody being sent to watch a team train and the same guy being sent to watch them play a game?

Depends. Dundee played a closed games against St Johnstone yesterday. If Gary Naismith or one of his staff was standing on the hill behind the Ormond Stand with a pair of binoculars then I'd suggest they were up to no good.
