Den Spark Posted 12 February 2019 Report Share Posted 12 February 2019 (edited) Eight of the players in that reserve squad are 18 and under. Five of them played against St Mirren U18s on Friday night. Edited 12 February 2019 by Den Spark

Pretty much this. He'll write off any debts and further consolidate his grip on the club - just like FPS do. Worst comes to worst, he'll just hire out some of the family jewels that's have just been taken back and off the market.

The 'big team' is still what its all about.

Cobra Posted 13 February 2019 Report Share Posted 13 February 2019 Disappointing that Dundee Reserves got well-beaten by a strong United team. Thankfully there are more meaningful derby games. 3

I think we've all got a well-developed ability to recall in detail occasions like that Doon Derby, yet no recollection of any result they may claim went the other way. ....what "massacre of 1965"????.... Incidentally, on Sportscene's cup highlights from Paisley, I'm sure I noticed the other famous greetin' face from just after FT in the doon derby video, dancing around waving a Stars & Stripes
CW 90+3 02/05/16 Posted 13 February 2019 Report Share Posted 13 February 2019 Absolute minter of a result obviously for the club but means pretty much nothing if it's not a level playing field and they are playing a strong team and we are playing mainly teens. Quite surprising though - have we not beat them in that fixture a good 3 to 4 years in a row? What's changed other than them playing a strong team yesterday or was that solely it? This is the first season of the re-introduced Reserve League, with (I think) no limits/restrictions on players ages...previous years it was the Development League (u-20 but allowed up to 5 over-age), or U-18s. I think you're probably right that we've won most of those recent wee derbies, and our team were in with a chance of the title last season, overtaken by Hibs & Hearts in the final month. I guess one other factor is that we've just released around the same number of pros that we've signed, but although signing as many new players as us, they appear to still have most of their previous ones on payroll.
