Getting back on topic, was only listening to the game but did Dorans actually get a kick of the ball??????

He needs match practice and training sessions with his new teammates

His first 5-10 mins were very shaky but he started to make a bit of an impact towards the end of the game. Saw enough today to suggest that when he's fit he will certainly improve the team

As Billy Pirie says first 10 mins were dodgy. Certainly lacking match sharpness.

He grew into the game and looks like he'll be a composed player on the ball. Read a lot of comments before he signed about how he was the answer to our creative midfielder problems. Not quite convinced he is that type of player. Think he likes to play a bit deeper and there won't be much of Scott Allan type defence splitting passes etc.

Not to be sarcastic, but that would not be to hard to improve this current Dundee side.!

Keeping him fit will be the biggest problem, between him and Ness they could play alternative games.

Good pre match interview with Dorrans today (as it was post match on Saturday, albeit brief). Speaks well.

Main points for me were:-

  • Discussions were had with English Premier teams (plural).
  • JMP was a 'massive' influence in him signing for Dundee FC.
  • Hopes to help the young lads develop and impressed with Robertson (repeated what he said post match on Saturday).
  • First full training session with the players today???? (presume he might have been involved on Monday?).  EDIT: He was involved.
  • Hopes to provide chances for the strikers and add a few goals himself.

Just remembered another bit that I think is interesting.

JMP said he has paired up Dorrans and Robertson in the dressing room. ie. They now sit beside each other.
