Britain Into Davis Cup Final

Rate this topic

Recommended Posts

Britain is into the final of the Davis Cup for the first time since I learnt to swear, in no small part thanks to the efforts of Andy Murray (it was a great team effort *cough*hartley*cough*).

This goes some way in helping me forget his woeful performance against Kevin Anderson at the US Open.

The final's in Belgium at the end of November. If we win, it will be the first time since 1936. Anyone who follows tennis will know that "1936" came up a lot before Andy won Wimbledon!

If they had lost it would have been PH's fault.. Being in the same street today and all that.

A fantastic achievement by the British team with a Scot as our best player makes it all the more sweet. Mrs Deemo and I cannot wait for the final in November and hopefully we can beat Belgium to win the Davis cup. They are playing it on clay though which isnt the best surface for Murray.

Didn't even know there was a Davis Cup final. Can't remember ever seeing it on the box.

Yes a team effort as Murray says himself and like it or not it's a British team.

No, I agree with the OP..

Well done the British team.

(Maybe we should replace the english players with Scots, though... seeing as how they won zero games)

:)

Of course I've understood what your comment meant, I just think it's a strange comment (and untrue by the way) to bring up in a thread about the British Davis cup team who have done the whole of Britain proud.

That's not factually correct

Quite right to pull me up....

They won ONE game between them.

Player               Singles Win/Loss         Doubles Win/Loss

Jamie MURRAY                                             2 - 1

Andy MURRAY    6 - 0                                   2 - 0

Dominic INGLOT                                            0 - 1

James WARD      1 - 2

Daniel EVANS      0 - 2

Joe.

As you seem to be an expert on tennis in the UK perhaps your can tellus the name of the tennis academy that Andy Murray attended as a teenager and where it is situated. I will give you a clue it is not in Scotland.
