Hi Andrak. Have highlighted the bit that interests me. Only shareholders have a right to a vote, and that's the only change I 'd suggest to an otherwise excellent post. It is essential that supporters debate and discuss the goings on at our club and I think that through this forum we have an excellent way of discussing things. DFCSS will see what the wider support for the club is thinking and I'd be surprised if they would deliberately choose a course of action that did not have significant support within their membership. We aren't a fan owned club, nowhere near it and I'd be very surprised if we ever...

Let's be straight here - don't we all believe we are better than them? Over 2 games, the better team prevails in most cases. Yep, upsets happen but let's not think they will if we were to play them. The top tier team usually wins. Regardless, i'd not want to test my theory!

I am not going to pretend I know the full role of the DFCSS (although I am a member) At £5 a year, it's unlikely to break anyone's bank. And so, unless you are against totally, the idea of DFCSS & what it stands for, why not consider joining, & having a voice/vote. Many on here have a deep understanding of the workings of the organisation (Not me) But although I have been impressed with what FPS has done for the Club ... I think it is important to have a watchful body outwith. At the introduction of DeeTV (before being "stolen" by DFC/FPS) I felt more tuned in to...

So does that make DFCSS just another shareholder, albeit one with significant minority rights. The society does not represent Dundee Fans in any sense. It represents its members only. If its members happen to be Dundee fans, then I guess that's something. There is absolutely no requirement to be a Dundee fan to be accepted for membership, of course. The board of DFCSS are elected from the members to represent the views of the members. They are not there to present their own personal views and definitely not to represent the views of Dundee fans generally. In fact, there is no forum or institutional entity that represents Dundee fans per...

Sorry to disillusion your good self BC'... BUT YOU SEEM TO THINK, YOU CAN COME ALONG, & JOIN US ... WITHOUT ANY REAL SERIOUS SCRUTINY FROM FELLOW MEMBERS. After filling out a written questionnaire as to your suitability, you are then subjected to "open questions" from ALL members (me & chomp) Although this basically consists of answering 2 Questions. "So you want to join the HCC?" & once recovered, it's followed by..."Are Ye Sure?" (The second question usually catches most applicants out) Feeling flustered & dejected, they leave disappointed...OK BC freend yir in NOTE: There are no compulsory fees required for joining. Nor any ongoing fees AT ALL required during...

Just seen your reply and I can't disagree with a point except one - we don't have time to make it work. One thing we do (and always should have) is time. We are perennial nobodies bouncing from one league to another. We need to try and change something, surely? Maybe it's just me but, I'm sick of it. Going up, going down same old tired merrygoround players. I'd be far more invested if I seen an actual goal to try and change end goal. Even though it would inevitably end in heartbreak when we sold the whole lot for 43 wham bars and an elastic band ball.

Therein lay the problem. Celtic (but moreso Rangers) had the perfect opportunity to do it recently. Celtic struggled to win a one horse race signing huddies whilst Rangers signed the old folks home and squandered millions to um, finish nowhere near Celtic. It's Scotland to the core. No foresight, no ambition to see the long game. All that ever matters is here and now. So, so disheartening. its exactly why the national team is so poor, we teach safety first. We long for a "100%" player, even though they're awful at football. It really gets to me seeing boys at grassroots 8/9/10 year old being abused with "get it oot!"...

Just watched highlights. Boy looks a proper striker. Last one was Hemmings. How do they compare? Yes I know it's early days.

I know this topic is focusing on "Play-Off- Place" ... But my total focus (& belief) at this time is, this will not affect us. Prefer to think (even though it is early days) we're now showing enough grit, energy & enthusiasm, to make 10th place. Hope we can do it Troodee

I think we should reintroduce Admin John & thon initiation test ... Remember we baith landed up in hosptal, in some kind of Pink Leather Outfit (drugged oot oor mind) I thought thon whipping wounds were never gonna heal (Not saying ye cannae trust John) But seriously he is not the kind of man, you'd want to meet in a dark room on your own It's his eyes

Delighted with your reply, and very relieved that there are no membership fees. Was wondering if there were any recruitment ideas that we might try.

Unfortunately I have seen too many flukey wins by them over the years. Yes we have won many a great victory and many times they have played better than us and deserved their win but when it comes down to flukey wins, cheating players Hegarty, Winters etc and downright bad luck on our side a play off situation v them gives me the fear of us outplaying them but not being able to score, losing one or more players sent off (especially if they landed us with the like of Steven McLean as ref.) and losing over all to a Kusunga own goal hit from the half way line. Hopefully...

Bottom line is Its SH*%E .. It should be banned and the stats don't lie. Look at Livingstone that is NO coincidence the points they have picked up at home this season . Its horrible to play on , the huge majority of players and managers don't like it , players run a higher risk of injury and it hands an unfair advantage to those who have it . There is a reason most PROPER leagues don't have many clubs, if any at all , that have it but being the joke of a set up we are in Scotland our powers that be allowed it . If clubs cant...

I'd like to join the Happy Clappy Club. It seems to me that being Grumpy about PATG and lack of communications from the club has got me nowhere. Would like to try a different tack but need some convincing that there are benefits in being a member of the Happy Clappy Club.

And did so with a ginormous fan base, a squad that was never going to be in danger of sliding down the table, never mind relegation and with world renowned managers capable of attracting the best talent to their status symbol club. It maybe didn't cost hundreds of millions (in wages etc, coaching budget and youth system, it maybe did) but it sure wasn't done on Neil McCann's budget. The other thing all of that bought them was time. Time to scoop up all the best young talent, time to nurture and build a team and time to move that into the first team alongside established pro's. At the level...

I don't think we stand on ceremony here mate, threads have morphed into all sorts of weird and wonderful (and ferry based) directions so I wouldn't lose any sleep over it.

Aye, last minute thing, somebody on here saying St. M had put out a gash team so went kah-razy and put a whole pound on. Made a couple of quid yesterday (really a couple of quid, about £2.50ish I think) which is good going for this little girl. Doing my best to lose it again today, some Cypriot assholes are letting me down at the moment.

Highly entertaining 4-4 draw last night against St Mirren. Absolutely Baltic conditions down at Riverside so all credit to the youngsters for playing in that. Not a glove wearer in sight in the Dundee team! Came back from 2-1 down to lead 4-2 but couldn't hang on. Some great talent on show from both sides, but MOM for me was skipper Lyall Cameron.

The news item was wrong.....there are more injuries caused on their pitch when Darian McKinnon sets foot on it.

Hard, dry pitches can be watered and softened up. Astro is relentless and unforgiving on your joints. Plus, it's bloody awful having to pick the pellets out your nose/hair/ears .. everywhere really!

Hemmings was a penalty box striker, Nelson is dangerous from outside the box as well.

completely forgot we actually signed this boy and it isn’t on loan, only got reminded today and it made me a bit happier after last night. a lot of raw talent there, pace and an eye for goal. I look forward to him leaving for 50k in a year

I like how he shoots on sight. Good pace and power too.

    • If there was one thing you would change about the club which you believe would make a difference, what would it be?

Me, I would change the following: Tannoy's/Speakers in the stadium, those things make my ears bleed every time they announce that the opposition have scored a goal!

    • Match Aftermath: St Johnstone 1 - 0 Dundee (25th Aug 2018)
The Dark Blues lose their fourth game in a row away to St Johnstone, leaving the Dark Blues with no points in three league matches.

Again it was a player who could have been a Dark Blue who scores. Tony Watt who had trained with the club joined St Johnstone earlier this month scored the only goal just after the break.

Dundee again had plenty of chances but failed to monopolise on the them.

      St Johnstone 1 - 0 Dundee

    • Just for a bit of fun I thought we could have a mini DFC fantasy game.

Pick 11 Dundee players before our league season kicks off at 3pm on Saturday. Formation can be 4-4-2. 4-3-3 or 3-5-2. Five points for an appearance and 10 points for a goal. Captain scores double.

Free to enter a team. Prize to be decided.

      This is my team...

      Elton (captain)

    • Once in the hot seat at Dens, ‘Cowboy’ made ‘Wee Georgie’ his number one signing target, spending a full afternoon convincing the player that his future still lay in Dundee and resulting in the frontman re-signing until the end of the season. Shaw however, clearly had an axe to grind as The Courier headline revealed ‘Shaw Pays Big Tribute To McCormack’. With the ‘new’ signing explaining further… “If I’d been given the same offer by Jim Duffy back at the start of the season I wouldn’t have been looking for a move in the first place.” Going on to have another swipe at his ex-boss by adding “…And from where I am standing it seems there’s one rule for managers and one for players, because while I was unable to join another Scottish team because no-one could agree a fee with Dundee, Jim Duffy was able to take himself off to Hibs no problem.”

    • The sale of Jim Hamilton to Hearts for £200,000 highlighted the two other major issues Dundee faced at the time. Namely a budget that barely seemed able to cover the heating bill, never mind a promotion push and the complete disinterest of the club’s latest white knight turned villain, Canadian ‘business man’ and club owner Ron Dixon.
