Last season the worst ever. A disgrace. Previous two seasons only a fraction better. This season so far? 6 unbeaten before today. 7 unbeaten in 90 minutes. Feel really proud of the players and feel like there's a connection and togetherness with the players and fans for the first time in over 3 years. This team is well worth watching unlike the last 3 seasons. We should back them to the hilt numbers wise and vocally.

I've seen my fair share of ups & downs following our club ( Mostly downs if truth be told with the occasional up being more of a false dawn than anything else ) but last season was by far the most difficult to watch for me particularly once Agent Mac was appointed . I haven't walked out of matches early so many times in my life , it was a real effort to even go at all and had I not of had a season ticket I doubt I would have attend many from xmas time on as it was really ruining my weekend . Although a big fan of...

Anyone who has seen us so far this season can see there is the makings of a good team there.Hopefully we can continue to grow the home support and get behind them like at the ayr game. For the first time in years I'm looking forward to going up to dens again, let's try to keep the crowd up and get dens jumping again.

Just a quick note regarding purchasing your tickets online. If the ticket for the match at Tannadice isn't appearing in your buy tickets section of your account please try logging out then back in. If that doesn't work you may have created a duplicate account which is not attached to your season ticket file. If you think this is the case please email [email protected] and I will try to sort it for you, please include a contact number in your email. Thanks

For Jack Hamilton's sake I hope he follows Curran's and Davies lead and hands in a transfer request, the boy will never win over our fans no matter how well he plays.

They are absolutely pathetic. They wont have sold the tickets they claim. They will be giving them out with flyers to all and sundry. The 'away team' sums up how much we hurt them. Cannot stand that sh!tey club, never have been able to. Got that from my dad and grandad.

I'd be appalled if we weren't speaking to him already tbh. Hopefully, his family around him are all quite grounded and advise him well. He's still only 16 and whilst there will be bigger clubs with more resources, the one thing he knows here right now is that he's got a manager who has looked after him for a young age and has always been very passionate about his development - the first thing McPake did as first team manager was to bring him into the first 11 and then make him a proper first team squad member. He is the youngest player to appear in any Scottish league so...

We should print Dundee v Away Team on the tickets for the Dens derby.

Really impressed with the way McPake not only set us up for this game, but the massive performance by everyone in a Dark Blues shirt. If we continue to play like this and this team does grow, then I don't think we will have much to fear in the Championship. I understand it was another defeat by the Don's, but unlike previous league and cup games against them we made them look poor all over the park today. Maybe out...but I am defiantly not down!

I think he is a spectacular talent for a lad that's still only 16. It's heartening to see a player coming through at that age and being able to slot right into the 1st team with ease. He never shies away from wanting the ball and always seems to find space. Distribution is excellent. Someone else has said that he is much more confident than the lines of CW so that's got to help but he looks so comfortable and technically skilled. Well done JMcP and the youth team. GS is just starting but if we could produce a player like him every few years that would be brilliant. Comparing...

I'm not really one to get into money figures it generates. I'm loving the buzz it's brought into it though. Folk are speaking to strangers and giving friendly pelters in cafes, pubs and at bus stops. It's f**cking brilliant. I love this city.

We should get a photo of Dee Wok in the bed and say that's where he sleeps, at night the naughty Dee Wok sneaks into the snack bar for leftover pies. The bin bags are full of United scarves he collected after the Doon Derby, we could even have a pic of Hooly greeting on Dee Wok's bedside cabinet alongside a pic of CW celebrating.

Jesus wept, Beto, you've been desperate for signings...."anyone", in at least one post, as I recall....and we loan in a hugely talented young winger, that Ireland are desperate to persuade to commit to them instead of Scotland. Maybe need to reconsider your level of expectation for a (close to skint) championship club.

Better than the dozen or so phannies we had last season.

He kept Mckenna very busy, made him look ordinary,he rolled him a few times, even though they were using wwf tactics. The one where he rolled him and got shot aff that hit post was quality striking!

Called up to the Scotland under 19 squad today along with Mcpake Great recognition for the young lad

Maybe the time has come to rest Robertson. Although he plays like a seasoned pro he's still a 16yo boy so needs protected. Swap Todd for Robertson and Hemmings for Nelson and that's the team I'd go for.

Robertson at 16 looks like he will be a key player for us this season... Mcpake at 17 was wanted by some SPL clubs according to reports but has chosen us. Rangers fans on social media rave about him. Rather have someone like Mcpake than a 5th/6th tier journeyman from the English lower leagues.

Only the last 3 season, Spirit? Make it more like 40! Seriously though, whilst the past couple of seasons have been dire, there were darker times in the not so distant past. I think it is just that we actually felt we were moving forward and had a chance to overtake UTD in the city so a lot of feeling of missed opportunity due to 2 disastrous managerial appointments.

I'll swim against the tide - nothing wrong with giving away tickets to kids/schools or indeed any other needy group. There is plenty of stuff to beat them over the head with a big stick with, but this isn't one of them.

From a very personal point of view ... Although I am not sure above, is the ideal solution to what I accept is a very difficult situation, it does appear to be a big step in the right direction. I totally understand the feelings of dismay/anger, of any member coming enthusiatically onto a topic/thread, either as a reader or contributor (or even worse, where posters are actively involved) & then find the thread has entered "organic tomatoes or long-john territory" by some demented, more than slightly mad, auld git, that spends far too much time following the "voices in his heid"....That said, although I'm no willing to accept awe the...

I also hope we can get more lapsed Dees thru the turnstiles, another 1000, whilst ambitious would be fab.

Looks like he's gone for hard working players with a bit of professional pride. He talked about getting the right types preseason and I've been impressed with all his signings so far. His 18s team worked very hard and I think we're starting to see this in the big team.

    • If there was one thing you would change about the club which you believe would make a difference, what would it be?

Me, I would change the following: Tannoy's/Speakers in the stadium, those things make my ears bleed every time they announce that the opposition have scored a goal!

    • Match Aftermath: St Johnstone 1 - 0 Dundee (25th Aug 2018)
The Dark Blues lose their fourth game in a row away to St Johnstone, leaving the Dark Blues with no points in three league matches.

Again it was a player who could have been a Dark Blue who scores. Tony Watt who had trained with the club joined St Johnstone earlier this month scored the only goal just after the break.

Dundee again had plenty of chances but failed to monopolise on the them.

      St Johnstone 1 - 0 Dundee

    • Just for a bit of fun I thought we could have a mini DFC fantasy game.

Pick 11 Dundee players before our league season kicks off at 3pm on Saturday. Formation can be 4-4-2. 4-3-3 or 3-5-2. Five points for an appearance and 10 points for a goal. Captain scores double.

Free to enter a team. Prize to be decided.

      This is my team...

      Parish

      Ralph
      Caulker
      O'Dea
      Kerr

      McGowan
      Madianga
      Elton (captain)

      Wighton
      Mendy
      Moussa

Top scorer tie-breaker: Mendy with 15 goals

    • Once in the hot seat at Dens, ‘Cowboy’ made ‘Wee Georgie’ his number one signing target, spending a full afternoon convincing the player that his future still lay in Dundee and resulting in the frontman re-signing until the end of the season. Shaw however, clearly had an axe to grind as The Courier headline revealed ‘Shaw Pays Big Tribute To McCormack’. With the ‘new’ signing explaining further… “If I’d been given the same offer by Jim Duffy back at the start of the season I wouldn’t have been looking for a move in the first place.” Going on to have another swipe at his ex-boss by adding “…And from where I am standing it seems there’s one rule for managers and one for players, because while I was unable to join another Scottish team because no-one could agree a fee with Dundee, Jim Duffy was able to take himself off to Hibs no problem.”

    • The sale of Jim Hamilton to Hearts for £200,000 highlighted the two other major issues Dundee faced at the time. Namely a budget that barely seemed able to cover the heating bill, never mind a promotion push and the complete disinterest of the club’s latest white knight turned villain, Canadian ‘business man’ and club owner Ron Dixon.
