Dundee vs Buckie Thistle
Venue: Dens Park
Date: 22nd July 2017
KO: 3PM
Referee: Craig Charleston
Linesmen: Andrew McWilliam, David Doig
Saturday will see Dundee and Buckie Thistle compete for the first ever time in a major cup competition.
Dundee go into this tie on the back of a big victory in Fife were the hosts fired home an equaliser before the Dark Blues then went back up the field to fire home he winner in injury time.
It was a huge change of character for The Dee whose heads would normally drop after a setback like that.
It wasn’t the most polished of displays from the team and they struggled to break down a resilient Raith Rovers side but after the introduction of Paul McGowan and new signing Sofien Moussa, Dundee looked more threatening.
This is Buckie’s first appearance in the League Cup competition and so far, they have been defeated in both of their ties against Cowdenbeath and Dundee United.
A 4-2 defeat to the Blue Brazil was followed by a 3-0 loss to United for Thistle but have shown on both accounts that they can take the game to their opposition.
Dundee should however prove to be too strong for the Highland Champions on our own turf.
Dundee will go into this match with no injury worries.
