  • League Preview: Livingston (Away, 20th October 2018)

The last time these two teams met in league action was way back in 2014. Paul Hartley had just taken over as manager and Dundee were fighting Hamilton for the league title. How much has changed between then and now.

If anyone had predicted that Livingston would be 5th in the league on 15 points in the league already, most would have you carted off to the funny farm to mend your ways, and maybe a lobotomy or two for good measure. However, that is the case and it seems that Livingston are riding the highs of promotion from last year and everyone is waiting on the proverbial bubble to burst.

Gary Holt took over from Kenny Miller (Yes that Kenny Miller) just a few weeks into Livingston's season after the ex-Rangers striker left the club. Under Holts tenure, they have racked up an impressive run and already taken scalps from Rangers and Hibernian on the way. Holt has just won manager of the month for September as his team were unbeaten and third in the league at one point.

The last time this Livingston team lost a game was back in August when they were beaten 3 - 1 by Celtic at Parkhead. So much for Livi side being cannon fodder for the rest of the SPFL sides.

Dundee head into this match under the guidance of new manager Jim McIntyre and the hope is he can turn around our fortunes by guiding the team off the bottom of the league and starting his tenure as boss with a victory.

The fans will certainly be hoping to see a much improved performance from who ever McIntyre picks in his starting XI.

Will we see a more direct attacking approach that will result in numerous shots on target and maybe some goals? Fingers crossed.

    Last Meeting | Livingston 0-2 Dundee March 15th 2014

Dundee maintained top spot in the Championship with a comfortable victory away to Livingston.

Peter MacDonald claimed his 18th goal of the campaign to put the Dark Blues 1-0 up within the first ten minutes.

Marc McNulty spurned the home side's best chance when his right-footed effort went just over the crossbar.

Kyle Benedictus sealed the win when his header back across goal beat Darren Jamieson, keeping the Dens Park ahead of Hamilton on goal difference.
