It isn't in a football fans nature to jump the gun but could we have seen the last of Canadian forward Marcus Haber after his latest social media post?
As the Dundee squad were preparing to board a plane to travel to Portugal for pre-season, Haber posted a photo on his Instagram story to say he was about to make the long trip to Johannesburg, South Africa. The big frontman had reported back to training last week but his exclusion from this trip followed by his posts on social media will see question marks hang over his future with the club.
Originally a Hartley signing, there is no doubting that Haber’s goals kept us up in 2016/17 but the following year he found chances few and far between before a back injury ended his season in March.
Initially frozen out at the start of 2017/18 season, Haber was given a chance to shine in the League cup tie against Dundee United in which he bossed and arguably gave his best performance in a Dundee top, albeit it was against lower league opposition.
After that match, Haber hinted towards a fallout with Neil McCann when he said:
“Has the manager previously questioned my work rate? You can ask him.
“Did my performance against United give a dilemma? You can ask him.
“Did I train with the Under-20s? You will need to ask him.”
Whatever happens, Haber looks destined to leave The Kilmac Stadium at Dens Park in the near future, even if his social media activity yesterday was harmless.
