With the pressure mounting on Neil McCann at fever pitch and the rumour mill speculating that anything other than a win today would lead to his sacking, Dundee dug deep to secure their first win of the season.

To round up a pleasant day for the Dee, they also managed to keep a clean sheet in this moral boosting victory.

Dundee still sit bottom but they have plugged the gap between themselves, St Mirren and Motherwell to just one point, who both lost today.

Andy Boyle gave Dundee the lead in the first half on the 38th minute when he headed home at the back post and despite Hamilton hitting the bar twice, Kharl Madianga wrapped up the victory when he made it two in the third minute of injury time.

For once, Dundee fans can look forward to watching SportScene tomorrow evening.

Dundee beat Rangers for the first time in 25 years in a 2 - 1 win at Dens Park.
Dundee changed formation and tactics for this game against Rangers and it paid off. The Dark Blues played a 4-4-2 formation and moved Wighton and O'Hara to the side with devastating effect.
Dundee nearly scored within the first 60 seconds after a great run and cross from Wighton down the left, but O'Hara header went wide of the target.
Mark O'Hara (13') and Kevin Holt (41') made it 2 - 0 before the half time. Rangers Gardner pull one back on the 62nd minute to make the final score 2 - 1 the Dark blues.

Dundee were held to a 1 - 1 draw by the visitors to Dens Park Kilmarnock.

Kris Boyd opened the scoring within the first 10 minutes, thanks to some terrible defending which let Scott Bain on a one to one with the veteran striker who slotted past Bain and into the empty net.

Kevin Holt made it 1 - 1 in the 27th minute as he swept the ball past three oncoming Kille players.

Inverness CT come back from 2 - 0 down to earn a point at the Caledonian Stadium.
Dundee took the lead through Marcus Haber (37') and Darren O'Dea (43') from well taken set pieces in the first half.
However, in the second half ICT fought back to a well earned point at home. ICT were awarded two penalties and both from Julen Etxabeguren (Which he was booked for one). McKay scored the first (53'), but Bain saved the second.  Greg Tansey scored on the rebound in the 79th minutes to share the spoils.
The Dark Blues could consider themselves lucky and some good goal keeping from Scott Bain helped keep the score at 2 - 2.
