  • Paul Hartley Insists Dundee Can Still Finish In The Top Six

The Dee fell further behind in their quest to finish in the top half after defeat to Celtic but the Dark Blues gaffer remains optimistic about his team's chances.

Dundee gaffer Paul Hartley insists his side have not given up on finishing in the top six.

Celtic won 2-1 at Dens yesterday to leave the Dark Blues eighth in the Premiership .

But Hartley said: “We have four games before the split, 12 points to play for, and we will have a go.

“If we get to the top six, then great. If not, it’s about making sure we are safe for next year.

“We were pretty comfortable in the first half but Celtic’s goal just before half-time changed the thought process.

“The second goal was poor from us but we stayed in it and got the goal. Give our players credit, we never gave up.”
