The Dark Blues
  • Scottish Football Memories

To celebrate the release of ‘Lifted Over The Turnstiles,’ DC Thomson have created an interactive timeline highlighting greatest and most memorable moments that have happened in Scottish Football.

Dundee first make the list at 59 when the Dark Blues won the League Cup for the first time against Rangers 3-2 at Hampden. Interestingly, it was Dundee’s first ever win at the national stadium.

Coming in at No.51, it’s the signing that not only shocked the City of Discovery but also the whole of Scottish Football. The signing of Argentina superstar Claudio Caniggia!

During the Bonetti era, foreign signings were the norm at Dens Park but this was possibly the biggest transfer Dundee fans have ever witnessed in their time.

Our last entry is at No.46 and is our most recent.

Dundee and Dundee United went into the last Derby of the 2015/16 season knowing that anything other than a United win would see the Tangerines relegated at the hands of their rivals. As we all know, it would end in a 2-1 victory for the Dee thanks to goals from Kosta Gadzhalov and an 93rd minute winner from local lad, Craig Wighton.
