Single Status Update
I had hoped that this was a subtle message that might encourage GS to see that if he runs his contract down, like McGinn did, he might be in the driving seat for an auction for his services. It could be much better for him to go down that route. It does depend on him turning in another brilliant year, but that would seem to be worth more to us than the £3-400k that most people seem to think we will get. He could be the difference between top 6 and a struggle at the wrong end of the table.
Didn't really want to elaborate, and as you point out £10k a week would seem to be very small beer for a player like GS.
