Great post and this bit is bang on.
We all know and concede that United are the favourites to win the league ever since signing Shankland.
That doesn't mean we accept as a support and a club rolling over to them in 4 derbies and giving them 12 easy points.
They are the best team in this league and will almost definitely win it I think, but they aren't invincible as Alloa, Ayr and QOTS have shown.
Even if we concede they will finish first, you still have pride to play for in a home derby in front of a sell out crowd and apart from matching them for effort first half (where they still shaded the play), our players simply didn't offer anywhere remotely near enough what they should have for a fixture of that magnitude and a lot of that was down to the manager with his tactics and subs.
To have your first shot on goal being a passback to their keeper round about the 70 minute mark is an insult to the 7000 Dundee fans who turned out for a TV game to back our club despite the previous derby hammering.
The derbies mean everything and to state fook them and they don't is just kidding yourself on regardless if you think Dundee will finish 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 4th or worse.
Here's hoping for a reaction but it's going to be a frustrating painful season I think with a rookie manager in charge learning the ropes and making mistakes throughout the journey.
