    Whats Still Required ?

I wouldn't say that the wingers weren't performing it's probably just easier to take off wide men if you're bringing on kids that's all. If we'd taken off central midfielders we'd had been expecting two 16yr old kids to plug that gap

McGowan has been playing in behind the main striker so I'm guessing McPake sees him as a secondary striker rather than a midfielder.

I like how he keeps possession and he does track back, I think his outdoing will be because of the fact that he's been labelled a winger and people's perception of what a wingers job is. A wide midfield would be a more apt description as it doesn't come with the burden of being expected to fly past fullbacks and hitting the byline, he doesn't look like that type of player.

I read on here that the QOS fans thought he was better playing further inside and I must admit I'm thinking that too based on his showings so far. He maybe isn't the most flashy of wide players but right now his inclusion there is giving the side a bit of balance and I think that's where he'll probably play for the foreseeable. A wee bit of the Ryan Conroy's about him though and I can see him coming in for a wee bit of stick.

Obviously there's no guarantees but I'd imagine May will walk this league. The quality he possesses isn't in doubt I don't think it's whether the expenditure matches his quality for me. His goals will be welcome but will he score enough to justify his potentially very large wage?.

Todd has played both sides for us so far, he was on the left v Brechin and has switched sides in other games.

    Jim Goodwin-lucky Escape?.

I'm guessing we'd have had one or two watching. I'd imagine Dave Mackay will only be on his Jack Jones when we're playing and he's watching the following weeks opponents at the same time.

Squad filler maybe?. It's possible that May will eat up a large chunk of our budget. Longridge can cover the wide area and also play as a striker so two for the price of one.

Its a tricky one as a right sided midfielder would give us 4 but leave us without a natural left sided player. All our wide men are right footed so naturally want to come inside, a left footer would give us another option if we we don't want to rely on Marshall getting up and down the park. He seems to be the player who's comfortable going outside and hitting the byline. I'm also not convinced that Todd is actually a wide player.

Thought that at the game yesterday, we had a bit of zip to our play and the fast surface suited that.

I think Wattie posted that Josh Mulligan is comfortable playing on the right. I think a lot will depend on the rumoured signing of Stevie May, the percentage we pay and the future of Andrew Davies. If we don't overspend on May and Davies leaves I can see 4 coming in, a young defender, right mid and 2 strikers.

Then we cross that bridge IF we come to it, second guessing what might happen in the future won't do anyone any good. Let's just enjoy things as they are and maybe, if given a wee bit of slack, Hamilton can surprise us.

Not sure that we'd make much by fiddling the Blackpool gate mate, it's not as if we had to give them a share. The tax saved on a few hundred fivers cannae be that much
