  1. V Balmoral Stadium Wellington Circle Altens Aberdeen, AB12 3JG Balmoral Stadium is a football ground located in the Cove Bay area of Aberdeen, Scotland. Opened in 2018, it is the home ground of Scottish League One club Cove Rangers. From 2021, it is being shared by Scottish Women's Premier League team Aberdeen. Capacity: 2,602 (Seats 410) Telephone: 01224 392111 Pitch Size: 105 x 68 yards Pitch Type: Artificial 4G Club Nickname: Wee Rangers or Toonsers Year Ground Opened: 2018 Home Kit: Blue and White Where To Drink? There is a small ‘fan zone’ clubhouse bar at the stadium which welcomes visiting fans. As the ground is located on an industrial estate, which is about out of town too, then there is not much else nearby in terms of drinking places. One exception is the Wellington Hotel on Wellington Road (the A956) which has a sizeable bar. It is located around half a mile, or a ten minute walk away from the stadium. There is also the Landykes on Loriston Road, in Cove, located just under a mile to the east of the ground. Directions and Car Parking The Balmoral Stadium is located to the South of Aberdeen. FROM THE SOUTH Leave the A92 and take the A956 towards Altens. On reaching a roundabout with a Burger King and a Shell Garage on the left-hand side. Take the first exit towards the retail park and then follow the road as it first bears around to the right into the industrial estate, passing the Royal Mail office on the left. The ground is at the end of this road. FROM THE NORTH Follow the A92 around Aberdeen heading towards Dundee. After crossing the Bridge over the River Dee, then at the next roundabout, take the first exit onto the B9077, signposted Altens Industrial Estate. Go straight over the next two roundabouts and at the third, take the third exit onto the A956, towards Perth. You will then pass the Wellington Pub & Grill on your right and a Shell Garage on your left. At the next roundabout where there are a Burger King and a Shell Garage on the right-hand side. Take the fourth exit towards the small retail park and then follow the road as it first bears around to the right, into the industrial estate passing the Royal Mail office on the left. The ground is at the end of this road. CAR PARKING There is a small car park at the ground. Otherwise, there is street parking available on roads around the Balmoral Industrial Estate that the ground is located in. BY TRAIN Aberdeen Railway Station is around three miles away from the Balmoral Stadium and is uphill most of the way, so it is rather far to walk. However, there is a very good bus service that will take you along the A956 near to the stadium. From Aberdeen Railway Station cross the road to the other side of Guild Street. The First Aberdeen Number 3 bus goes from here towards Cove. After passing a Shell Garage on the left, then at the next roundabout (where there is another Shell Garage on the right and a Burger King) get off and follow the road in-between Shell and Burger King into the small Retail Park and then the Industrial Estate. The stadium is at the end of this road. The bus takes about 15 minutes and runs every 15 minutes during the day, reducing to half hourly in the evenings. There is one back after an evening game. 11. Cove Rangers Football Club is a senior Scottish football club currently playing in the Scottish Championship. They are based in the Cove Bay area of Aberdeen and play their football at Balmoral Stadium, having left their former home at Allan Park in April 2015. Cove were formed in 1922 and played in the local amateur leagues until 1985, when they became a junior team. However, the club applied and were accepted to the senior Highland Football League in 1986, where they played until winning promotion to Scottish Football League division 2 in May 2019, after beating Berwick Rangers 7–0 on aggregate in the pyramid playoff. They have also racked up a formidable reputation in the lower rounds of the Scottish Cup, reaching the 3rd round three times. In 2001 they won their first Highland League championship – but even more impressively won the 'treble' of Highland League, Aberdeenshire Shield and Scottish Qualifying Cup. In the 2007–08 season, Cove reached round four of the Scottish Cup for the first time, beating Brora Rangers away 5–0, Keith 3–0 and Edinburgh University 1–0 on the way, before losing 4–2 to Ross County. However, the south Aberdeen side claimed their second ever Highland League Championship with a 3–0 home win against Lossiemouth on 3 May 2008. Cove Rangers were one of the clubs who prepared an application for entry into the Scottish Football League following Gretna relinquishing their league status on 3 June 2008. The other clubs were Annan Athletic, Preston Athletic and Spartans.Annan Athletic were eventually awarded the place, due to their superior facilities. One of the club's most famous players is the young Scottish midfielder Paul Coutts who joined English League One club Peterborough United during the summer of 2008 for a nominal fee. Coutts won the club's Young Player of the Year award for the 2008–09 season and won eight caps for the Scotland under-21 squad, after being touted for a call up by his former manager Darren Ferguson. In 2016 the club regained their Highland League crown. Due to the introduction of the 'pyramid system' in Scottish football, Cove elected to say goodbye to their Allan Park home due to the stadium not meeting SPFL minimum stadia requirements. This in turn meant the club played all of their games at an away ground with Inverurie Locos, Formartine United and Banks O'Dee offering the use of their facilities so the club could compete. Cove went on to win the league and advance to the first play-off game against the winner of the Lowland League, Edinburgh City. The tie was won by City 4–1 on aggregate who subsequently progressed to Scottish League Two after beating East Stirlingshire in the second playoff tie.
