  1. I'm not sure any Fans will appreciate that question...Because many DFC Fans will respond by saying..."Eh couldnae care less aboot that lot !!" But from a Business point of view, would it not be unwise not to be constantly aware of the Plans & Ambitions of "the other" City Club/Team? I think, the point, or question I am trying to ask here is...Although they are in a Division below us, should we totally ignore them & focus on DFC? Or should BOD be emphatically saying (or at least thinking)..We, at this time, are the Leading (only) City Premiership Club & we're staying here At this point, Dundee is having tremendous season. But I can't make up my mind if United's recent success is a factor in Dundee's own Great Run. As I've mentioned two lines back, I'm well aware they're Division below. but I'm still wondering if their run of wins have made us go that extra mile? Last night's result may mean "they're run" is coming to an end. But however others see it, or whatever is ahead...Now is the time for us to push on. I've more I'd like to add to above But I''ll wait & see if I get any response. WId hate to think we're complacent. We should now be ultra competitive.
  2. Just watched and listenened to, Our New Manager's First Interview on Dee TV. This post is to ask Club, to make it available FREE for every DFC fan/supporter. I know I can get a little over-excited at times. but this Interview is a must watch.
  3. Probably if I had any sense, I'd leave this post (possible conversation/discussion) until we reached the end of the season... But I feel it's the lack of real foresight & ambitious plans by the present Board, that's preventing real progress of Dundee FC.. As it stands just now, it may be, DFC are at last on cupse of promotion. We might be going up , whilst United going DOON... As said above, I might be tempting fate here. I accept it could all go pear-shaped DFC missing out. Arabs escaping drop But it still concerns me that, wherever we find ourselves, have we (DFC/TK/JN) any real serious plans for future of Our Club. At this time I'm not at all interested in the questionable "progress" of Campie Project. I just want DFC to be No One City Club That to me is where the Full Focus should be. Whether it is this season or not, the door is open for us to push past the Arabs. Although whatever opinions and views Dundee Fans Supporters in this area will have little effect on decisions made by FPS. I would like to hear them. It's been seen in the past, we have had the opportunity to take the lead in the Top Club City Stakes. And whether through lack of ambition, or lack of funds, the opportunity has ben allowed to pass us by...PLEASE NOT AGAIN DUNDEE FC. THE ONLY CITY CLUB THAT MATTERS . So Tim Keyes and John Nems, Eyes on the Big Prize. DFC we love them. We Can/Will Do It & United Are Keech
  4. Just about to post again on George Cran Topic Thread ... Which seems to have, maybe sparked me back to life (a wee bit) on the Forum. But then thought, rather than divert his topic/thread, & some of the interesting issues raised, it might be better to try to start a New Topic. The reason I raised that particular topic above was my feelings and response about the discussions taking place on New Campie Project. There appears to be so much focus by FPS (Or others who may be involved) on this Campie Stuff, I wonder if they have forgotten, who we are, and what we are supposed to do...Play decent football And be a real challenge to other & all Scottish Clubs...And even regularly interact with DFC fans & supporters on matters apertaining to actual current football stuff First & Foremost a Football Club !! Does anyone else feel that in this process to build a New Stadium fans & football has been left behind? "Football is Nothing without Fans"
  5. https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/62543432 I added the topic here, because of his previous connection to Dundee ... Not because DFC is considering signing him (weel no that eh ken aboot) It's good, honest, heart-stirring article, from what is/was a decent player. His skill & football brain was never in doubt, so I'm sure we wish him well. Whatever direction Scott's future takes a wee call fae GB would be good.
  6. Don't need to remind everyone, that not only was JR my No One Choice...it would also be true to say, my personal promotion for JR on just about everyone of my posts to the DBF, was probably bordering on the area of obsessiveness ... Maybe even in the Stalking Category. But I'm not apologising for this, because I think (like many others) he is head & shoulders above any of the candidates that may or may not, be in the frame at the present time. Acccording to the headlines/comments/rumours, it might appear, we have nothing to worry about, because all I'vee been reading recently is DFC are "relaxed" about the present situation... Well good for them, Because, I am certailnly not. And I imagine, there will me many more, getting as stressed out... Not only about what seems a drawn-out process, but more importantly the final outcome...It's that important (imo) I'll be honest here, when JR initially rejected our approach/offer outright, my attitude towards him was not at all nice & welcoming !! But since then, it appears EVERY possible mentioned candidate for the Manager's Job is also giving Dundee the "total run-around" And with this in mind, I feel like giving them all the "one finger" getting a possible "stand-in" caretaker manager (Charlie Adam) & then either advertise nationally, or get right back to Jack Ross with a re-newed offer & hope he may reconsider. Maybe all this is already in place (THIS INNER HOPE & POSITISM IS DRAGGING ME DOWN) And we are all set to hear the JR Announcement today. But if not, I'd say, give JR one last chance to refuse/accept even tho' his wife is no so keen to move. As I already said, it may be he does not deserve this...And there are decent managers still out there. But this "present bunch" (looking in from the outside) seem to be really taking the piss out of us (DFC) I'LL BE DELIGHTED IF THIS POST BECOMES REDUNDANT & TODAY dfc get the RIGHT MAN IN PLACE.
  7. Think as much as anyone else (more maybe) I've questioned issues around Fitness in DFC Players. After watching the players tonight against Hibs...I'm wondering now, if I've been getting this wrong. It's maybe something quite simple. Maybe they're all fit; generally performing to best of their ability. & it's a straight forward case, that older players simply no longer have the stamina they once had? (I can certainly vouch for that ,in trying to carry out every day chores, that I used to breeze through) Maybe it's time to give full focus to...Young, Eager, Energetic Young Lads. They showed us tonight. There is no doubt the "elder statesmen" have the learned skill & long experience on their side. But in a "proper" competing game, there's no longer the time to ponder on, what to do next. And this was shown clearly (imo) last night when the young enthusiasic DFC Players, Harassed & Harried the Hibs Players at every opportunity...Especially in the 2nd half. Let's Focus on Young Ones Next Season (wherever we are) But Well Done Everyone.
  8. For those who can access Today's Courier; What do you think? It seemed to me, he is putting out big strong hints for the Job) Is he ready for step up? Could he do it (If Jn's going that way)
  9. Jings, there is nothing like this bloody club & team o' oors tae mak us aw look stupid Eh've spent the past ten days ripping intae everyone & everything associated to Dundee. And here they go and really do the business against the Hibees, & this was to be the day, I intended trying to try and organise a "Lynch Mob". I've not yet read One Post on the DBF since game kicked off last night & finished on such a rampant victory ... But Great Joy !! Aye it might weel be, they've left it too late & "One Swallow Doth Not A Summer Make etc" But I'll take it when eh get it. Quite happy to eat "humble pie" & even look like a daft erse. Eh couldnae sleep again last night. Again up at 4am. This time, for the right reasons I have still not read one post/feedback to the game. Hope you all feel the same as me Well Done to Dundee, Management Team, & Definitely Players & The Enthusiasic Fans
  10. I'm really not getting carried away here. But at the same time, I am not gonna underestimate, just how important (and sweet) that victory felt. All of Us...But Especially the Players out there (imo) have got to get back the belief ... "We Can Do It" JUST GONNA LEAVE IT THERE FOR NOW...BUT INTERESTED TO HEAR, IF OTHERS FEEL THE SAME.
  11. ttps://dundeefc.co.uk/news/james-wins-scottish-championship-glens-manager-of-the-season/ Keep up the Good Work. And together with the DFC Players, show the Premiership, we've arrived
  12. As a long term insomniac, I go to bed, with little or no hope, of a good night's sleep !! Last night however, I hit a new low. I'm not sure I got any sleep...Got up before 5.00am. The big day has finally arrived for DFC ...The Club, the Manager, the Players & us Fans. Jings, Lads & Lasses (& players) I hope none of you feel quite as nervous as me today. Realistically, regardless of what Killie Mgr. and their players, pundits & bookies believe, DFC have today, a real opportunity to win promotion. And maybe even do a win in style. Can it all go wrong? Of course it can. But at this time, let's keep the positivity to the fore. Today on here (if possible) lets all get right behind Our Club & Our Team. Let them know. We could not be in a better position....We've seen what the opposition have had to offer. And we dealt with them...With Grit, Skill, Determination Fearlessly and with Fight & Flair. Could it go wrong? Yes of course it could. But we're the Form Team on the ascendancy. We should have nothing to fear from Kilmarnock or their "Plastic Pich" Let's Do It DFC (Part of the reason for may re-introducing this topic, is to prepare myself for the worst) If it does all go wrong, rather than feel "let down" (Know I'll take it very badly) take hope from the fact, that in the past few weeks, it looks possible, that DFC with JMP & players. may have finally got their act together. None of us want to see ourselves facing another season in Championship. But if it comes to that, we are one year wiser & more mature. But to finish on a positive note...Were taking a lead to Rugby Park ... Let's finish the Job C'mon the Mighty Dark Blue ... You Can & Will Do ... The Time is Now ... WE LOVE DFC HOPE JMP, GIVES EACH PLAYER...THAT PHOTO OF CHARLIE CELEBRATING HIS GOAL And that's what it should mean to every DFC player who dons the Dark Blue Jersey Tonight. (Just in case DFC Players don't have pic of CA on Dressing Room Door, please put it up here)
  13. According to the Professional Pundits & the Killie Manager & Team, the result last night, was not meant to happen !!. I'm referring to the days & hours leading up to the game last night (Highlighted this in one of my posts, few days back) When the anger & frustration of comments from Tommy Wright (& few punters got the better of me) I suggested, that "according to what I was hearing/reading/seeing, DFC Manager & Players (& "some" DFC fans) should wave the white flag & no bother coming out of the dressing room for one of the most important games for Dundee for many a season. I know we're only at the half-time-stage & things can go wrong in the 2nd leg. But nothing can take away from me, the restored feeling, of joy/pride I felt for DFC Players & manager, for their, relentless, powerful performance, of last night !! Each DFC Player, gave his all as an individual. And worked themselves (at high speed) into the ground...For each other. With the exception of a few moments, they totally over-ran the opposition, & for the whole 90mins, left them bewildered. The most "wearing" part of the whole game was the comments and commentary, which we had to endure, when rather than give the deserved credit to Dundee, for their skill, energised, "up & at them" performance for the whole 90 minutes, we had to repeatedly listen to the "banal utterances" again & again of, "Never seen Killie play so bad" (Oh aye, right then) Nothing at all to do wi the Dundee Players, giving out everything in Blood, Sweat, Tears. Focused, Fit, Driven, Determined Big Congratulation to DFC, Manager, PLayers, & All Dundee Fans & Supporters (Especially those who cheered us on We are awe getting a bit too Auld & Experieced to take things for granted. But whatever the 2nd leg ... THANKS LADS
  14. Was reading Shaded's Post on Dundee Mad, on what he describes (affectionately) as the "Old Lady" ... DENS PARK. He asked the question (as broken doon as it is) should we consider as fans, try to raise money to buy it (apologies Shaded if I have got it wrong...& for "in part" stealing your topic) But it was his reminder that buying Dens was part, of the original deal, that got "lost" somewhere when contract was finally signed & we happily welcomed US freends. He also suggested (my words now) the Campie Project has stalled enough to make us wonder, if it will ever happen. So going back to my own topic above (which I think has links to shaded post) If Campie Project does fall through & DFC seems to be in freefall and going nowhere. Then the US Owners say we are off !! Where do we go from there? It's a genuine question, which I know has been discussed before, but I have yet to understand where that leaves us. As well as a debate & discussion on this, for my own benefit I would appreciate if others could enlighten me on this.
  15. In just a few weeks time, we will know, whether we are still a Premiership Club next season, or down there in the Championship Division Will the relief of ending this "season of misery" by hinging on to our Premiership place, be enough to make us feel positive for the future? I'm thinking of another season like this one & still under JM & same players we have at present (On the basis they did what we hoped for) The fact we have managed to survive, would be reason enough for most of us to celebrate. But I'm not sure I could face a similar season. There's been a topic started today/yesterday (think by Wattie) about how many of the present players we would/can keep for next season. It seems if we went down (as is more than possible) probably all our players would be gone...As well as possibly JM our present manager. There was another topic started a few weeks ago, trying to highlight the positivity of being relegated (like novelty of winning some games) But I am thinking of trying to attract a New Manager Very few decent managers would be interested in joining a Club, if all they had to work with were the squad that was picked by previous manager & who had a large part in putting us down. However, the prospect of signing for a Club, that desperately need players to make up their squad (& new manager's involvement in this) Would be a different proposition (imo) DFC (certainly as far as us fans are concerned) are still a Decent Club, that under the proper, professional guidance can aim for the Top Six. Appointing an ambitious top class manager, who thinks the same, with the freedom to pick his own set of new players to do the job, I think is well within the realms of possibility whatever division we're in. So whatever outcome I'm working hard to remain positive for the future
  16. Cammy Kerr has shared his thoughts on his future in a short article in the Online Courier today ... https://www.thecourier.co.uk/fp/sport/football/dundee-fc/838520/cammy-kerr-determined-to-get It seems by the summer he will be a free agent, but as he says he's determined to show he still has something to offer DFC & will be fighting to get back his place. Sentiment it appears, for DFC Fans. has no place in the world of football ... And I accept, just because a player is born in Dundee & is a lifelong DFC fan/supporter, it disnae mean he is an automatic choice in the Dundee Football team. I don't get to live games. But I,m not sure he is deserved of the bile he receives from some posters. Anyway folks ... Should he move on? Fight hard to get his place back? Or be considered for another position in team?
  17. This is NOT another demolition job on Our Previous Manager (please) .. More about trying to highlight & focus on the Positive Attributes of Our Present Managers's Approach ... (Treat it as a Fun Topic or something more serious) I am gonna kick it aff wi' a simple example Jim McIntrye identified (as we all did) Genseric Kusunga had an eye for goal. He then too him aside, praised him. But suggested, he makes sure he is either facing, or running towards, the opposition's goal And this simple. uncomplicated, straight-forward suggestion did the trick for the General...As he thundered through to blast in thon Braw Goal (Okay eh like to add a wee bit daftness tae meh posts) But thoughts on JM?
  18. Online NewsPaper ... DISCUSS BET THAT GOT YOUR ATTENTION ... (Should have been £2M ..Two Million) ... Got Over- Excited !!
  19. Last year the club ran the pink kit with maggies on it to raise some funds for the charity. Was a total figure ever released for what was raised? I bought one and thought it was smart but so did the cat that put a hole in it.
  20. I am not happy with the squad we have and think we should get rid of a few who should we get rid of in your opinion
