Jocky Scott is a former Scottish professional football player and manager, best known for his time playing for Dundee FC and Aberdeen FC Born in Dundee, Scotland, in 1948, Scott began his football career as a youth player with Dundee FC. Scott made his first team debut for Dundee FC in 1967 and quickly established himself as a key player for the club. He played as a forward and scored numerous goals, helping Dundee FC to win the Scottish League Cup in 1973. He also represented Scotland at international level, earning seven caps between 1975 and 1977. After a successful spell at Dundee FC, Scott joined Aberdeen FC in 1977. He continued to impress at his new club, scoring 42 goals in 170 appearances and helping them to win the Scottish League Cup in 1985 and the Scottish Cup in 1983 and 1984. He also played a key role in Aberdeen FC's famous victory over Real Madrid in the 1983 European Cup Winners' Cup final. After retiring from professional football in 1985, Scott began a career in football management. He managed a number of Scottish clubs, including Dundee FC, Aberdeen FC, and Dunfermline Athletic. He also had a spell as assistant manager of the Scotland national team under Craig Brown. During his time as a manager, Scott enjoyed a number of successes, including leading Aberdeen FC to victory in the Scottish League Cup in 1989 and guiding Dundee FC to promotion to the Scottish Premier League in 1995. He was also praised for his work in developing young players and was credited with helping to launch the careers of a number of successful Scottish footballers. In addition to his career in football, Scott is also a keen golfer and has played in a number of charity golf tournaments. He remains a respected figure in Scottish football and is remembered as one of the most talented players and managers of his generation.
