Rumoured to be of interest to Motherwell. Find that odd given what happened with us in the prem. He is doing well with Dunfermline but surely a step too far. Just press noise maybe?

A few wee questions to see where we all stand. This is a blind poll and it would be great if we can get good numbers to complete it. Maybe we can gauge how close each of us is to the avarage. As at 15.40 on 6 Jan - 46 people have completed the poll. A solid picture is emerging. I'll check again tomorrow late evening to see where we are after the late afternoon/early evening posters have a go.

Your half-time score card poll.

There is always a straw which will break the camels back, and for many I believe it was last nights result. Even our most pessimistic Prince Buster didn't or couldn't have predicted that result last night. Personally, I was willing to give McPake until the end of the season before giving judgment on his term with us, but last night, this was just one result too far and the straw which broke the camels back. If McPake had been at any other club, we would have been talking about him leaving the club and discussing his successor... possibly Adam for the short term. Now it looks like he still has the backing of the board and will be given more time, so the question is, could he win the fans back before the end of the season? Let's remember, last season before Christmas, many fans wanted him sacked and out the door. However, he did well in the January window and turned a bad period around and got us promoted. So given that he has shown that he can turn things around, would you be willing to give him until the end of the season and the January window to turn things around, or last night with the final straw?

Pity that he will miss Saturday's game and a pity we cannot red card underperforming refs (and linesmen) so that they can be replaced by another underperforming official. https://dundeefc.co.uk/news/james-mcpake-suspension/

Was just thinking to myself that this is probably the most boring transfer window that I can remember. When you think of the total overhauls that we have had since 2014, this season is pretty much boring, but personally, I will take that any time. Tonight we looked like a team and not a bunch of players who have just met for the first time. I have been saying for years that we need stability on the park and it is good that McPake realises this. We have kept the spine of last seasons team together, only bringing in replacements when required. The other good think that McPake needs to be praised for is sticking with the young players and giving them time on the park. Must be good for them to have experienced players like McGhee, Byrne, Fontaine, McGowan and Adam to learn from.

Come on John Nelms. Do your job. James McPake cannot remain in post.

Dundee have been dealt a big blow with the news that first-choice centre-half James McPake will miss the next two weeks through injury. Source: The Courier The former Hibs defender picked up a rib problem during Sunday’s draw at Dens with Ross County. Dark Blues boss Paul Hartley has now confirmed that 30-year-old McPake will sit out Saturday’s clash at home to Motherwell along with the game against current Premiership table-toppers Aberdeen on January 17. The manager said: “James will be out for the next two weeks. “It’s a blow because he’s been solid for us this season. “But it just seems to be the story of our season with so many injuries. “It’s nothing new so we’ll just roll our sleeves up and get on with it.†Meanwhile, keeper Kyle Letheren could be back fit again within the next fortnight. The Welshman injured his thigh in the warm-up before the New Year’s Day derby at Tannadice. Hartley added: “Kyle will be out for another two weeks. “It’s his thigh so we just have to make sure he’s right when he gets back.â€
