  3. It is interesting to note, that we have not won a game on this day since 1973 when we beat Kilmarnock away from home 2 - 1. This was the same season we went on to win the cup against Celtic. This was the day of the seven's with the Dark Blues being beaten at home from Rangers 7 - 1 against a Jocky Scott side that was truly routed. If you are a masochist, the match report for this game is here. 27/02/2000 is a date most Dees will try and forget. However, it was a different story and a different team that routed Hearts in 27th Feb 1965 and it was a day that Dundee actually score 8 goals, Alan Cousion netting for the Jambos with an own goal on the 85th minute. Dundee's line up that day were full of the famous names of the Dark Blue. Penman, Cox, Hamilton, Cooke, Robertson and Donaldson. Dundee Line up: Donaldson, Hamilton, Cox, Cousin, Easton, Stuart, Murry, Penman, Cameron, Cooke, Robertson. Hearts: Cruickshank, Shevlane, Holt, Pollan, Anderson, Higgins, Jenson, Ferguson, Wallace, Gordon, Hamiltion. Andy Penman scored a hat-rick that day and so did Kenneth Cameron. Penman opened the scoring on the 15th minute and added a second on the 30th mark. Cameron netted two minutes later to take the score to 3 - 0 the Dees. Dundee started off pretty much the same way in the second half when Penman got his hat-rick on the 50th minute. Five minutes later Cousin got on the score sheet to make it 5 - 0. Cameron not wanting to be out done by Penman decided to get his own hat-trick himself, making it 6 - 0 on the 63rd minute and then six minutes later making it 7 - 0. Alan Cousin again got on the score sheet on the 85th minute, but this time into his own net to give a beleaguered Hearts team a consolation goal.
  4. On this Day: Our last win on this day, was way back in 1926 (91 years ago) when we beat Clydebank 2-1 at Dens Park! Also on this day, we suffered a 5-1 thrashing by them next door in 1980 (which according to some Arabs was the time before time began and didn't matter). And finally, on this day in 1904, we beat the Tims 2-1 at Dens Park in the old Scottish Division One. The last time we beat Celtic at Dens was 24 Sep 1988 when we won 1 - 0. Tommy Coyne was the goal scorer for the Dee and Alan Rough made his debut for Celtic.
