Gedee Posted 19 February 2017 Posted 19 February 2017 As cobra has said ... Even as it stand at this time, the weekend results have meant, it's no' been too bad weekend for DFC. However, there comes a time, for everyone I'm sure, when staying static (still desperately managin' to hing on to oor place) makes some of us wonder, if this is whit DFC should be awe aboot. I am no' trying to start a raging destruction job, on BOD, PH or players (it's for me, the present league set-up, & the negative approach this encourages, in nearly all managers/clubs & players, the "let's try yo hing on to what we've got" attitude) If fitba DFC fitba fans, as weel as Scottish Fitba Fans in general are waiting fo,r & expecting, a positive, creative, cavalier, attacking approach in the near future. eh somehow dinnae think we should be huddin on to oor breath for that to happen.Think the days o' watching entertaining free-running players are going fast . So for me today...Is it points or performance? LETS HAVE THE POINTS OF COURSE (even ain will dae) Let's "hing in" there (hypoctite that eh am) MON the MIGHTYDEE
EastLothianBlue Posted 19 February 2017 Posted 19 February 2017 I see Hartley is saying in the press that we showed them too much respect in the first half of the last games and sat back too much.... seems to suggest that we are going for them from the kick off today.

We are where we deserve to be - the 4 winnable home games we have left(including 2 in the bottom 6) are what we must try and win- that does not include tomorrow-anything from it is a welcome bonus. I still can't see us winning away from home-would we have got a point at Tyncastle today???? Nonsense, every game counts equally. If we beat them today it counts for three points and is not a bonus at all. Points today would, if anything, be even more welcome in fact than any against ICT or Killie. 2
Billy Pirie Posted 19 February 2017 Posted 19 February 2017 Can see us scraping a 1-1, with yesterday's results this wouldn't be too bad an outcome. I very much doubt PH will set us up to have a go
EastLothianBlue Posted 19 February 2017 Posted 19 February 2017 (edited) Just away to set off on the perfect day... 1. Nice sunny hour and a half trip to Dundee feeling positive and chirpy; 2. Quick drink in the Barrels to see Aberdeen beat Kilmarnock 3. Head to Dens to see the Blues beat the other Blue team; 4. Beautiful trip back down the road waving to all the glum Blue's fans who are crying about the defeat whilst listening to BBC Scotland team reporting how great the Blues played; 5. Return home to find chilled lager in the fridge to drink whilst catching up on the ecstatic positive reaction from the fans on the Forums and then having a laugh by going on the other Blues forum to see the overreaction of their fans after getting beaten. All of this will come true today Edited 19 February 2017 by EastLothianBlue Spelling 4

Don't totally agree with that first sentence - or the second t.b.h. A defeat to Rangers today wouldn't bring the teams below us any closer but a defeat to one of them does - the so called '6 pointer'. I'd prefer 3 points v a team below us over 3 points to a team above us in our current situation.

Rangers haven't lost at Dens in quarter of a century and haven't lost to any team outside the top four this season. The evidence suggests the best we can hope for is a point to edge away from the drop zone and closer to the top six. While points gained against the Old Firm might be more satisfying, winning a six-pointer is probably more significant in terms of our final league position.
87DEE Posted 19 February 2017 Posted 19 February 2017 It's been said on other threads, they've just went to Dens on sky sports news to talk about the game, pitch looks sublime, what a surface they produce. Good luck to everyone that goes today, I'm on call so I'm going to watch it at home, MON THE DEE!!
