Our mood has changed from positive hope for a successful season to deep gloom and depression.

Can we salvage our season and establish ourselves in this division?

Time will tell.

This is no time for knee jerk decisions, Hartley despite making some howlers recently, must focus on the job in hand and get some points on the board.

By this time he knows who the bottlers are and he won't be forgiven for keeping faith in them.

The club and fans have taken a massive blow this weekend, it's time to take the first step forward by beating Ross, it will take total effort from all those involved.

Our mood? You speak for yourself mate I'm still positive and still think we'll achieve the season's goal of staying up.

I'm confident we'll stay in this division, but yesterday was a dark day for our club. It seems like our players - excluding a few - really don't understand the importance of this fixture.

We're all embarrassed, but it's time to move on and give Ross County a good humping.

Hello Spirit' ..............Yesterday's result will stay with most of us for a while ...... and as you say, only time will tell, if we can recover from it.

However, we do not have long to wait to see, if we have the bottle to show we will do all we can to get back on track. ( I am not sure why I keep saying "we" it really is in the hands of the players)

I do think the supporters will get behing the players on Sunday ..... but I would not expect fans to be forgiving, if there is no real effort and determination shown by ALL of the players on the park..

With St Mirren and Ross County losing on New Years Day, we still have the opportunity to keep that gap wide ....... if we take it.

The reality is though that until we've had a couple of seasons in the top flight to build up to their standard we have to just treat games against them as 'just another match'. Before you all go ballistic, I know that isn't what you want to hear but sentiment has to be put aside while the people in charge move the club forward.

Tin hat's on.

I hear you, Deeranged.

I realise we're a work in progress, but when it comes to a game against our biggest rivals, surely a bit more passion and fight wouldn't go amiss ...?

Saying that, I would much rather stay in this division than beat them once and go down.

The worrying thing is though "effort",or lack of it,isn't the problem.

Completely agree Rev.  As far as I can see, recently we've been done by a lack of organisation, wrong decisions, wrong starting line ups and more worryingly an obvious lack of class/skill in some positions.  Sometimes I think that PH ends up over complicating things.  My perception is that Alex Neil, for instance, does the opposite.

I think PH is making the grand mistake of trying to have our players play football.

And not giving the odd *cynical* foul away. ( i seem to remember a certain Bonetti doing the same!)  :)

The reality is that (to my mind) this league is a tad harsher than those below us.

Mistakes are punished quickly, and stick dealt out more often...

I think we just need to toughen up overall and concentrate on the basics... (and yes, there are a player or two who should probably walk...)

Get comfy before we try to get *too* silky.

Wot he says,

I'll use a bit of a wa nky analogy but its about winning the war, not the battle. If we want to get to the position of them keeching it about having to play us then we've got a bit to go, we're on the way I think, stay up and consolidate, next year aim higher, thats got to be our mantra.

JC your are correct, we tend to play too much tippy tippy stuff just in front of our defence, we can't damage the opposition and makes getting forward difficult and slow.

I know PH likes the passing game but sometimes you need to move the ball forward quicker.
