That's a real fine comment Spirit ....We would awe nned to be blind, no to see his early potential and progressive period of development. May sound daft. But I think, he was the last to be aware, of how good he was. And could be !!. Now he's confidently right in there

Now he's confidently right in there Comparison with John White is interesting and from what I can remember, John was a bit smaller in height than Craig and a wee bit wider across the backside. Its flattering for Craig and our club that he is being compared to one of Scotland's most talented midfielders.
Derrygunner Posted 22 February 2017 Posted 22 February 2017 The boys some talent eh tell ya! What I loved about his run near the end was how effortless it seemed just to put it through wilsons legs? I think it was, just glided into the box and almost scored a lovely goal if it wasn't for a very good save. I actually think PH has handled him brilliantly in the way he's gradually gave him time, as Bubster says sometimes we maybe forget he's only 19, proud as f**k of him and Cammy, two in the blood Derry boys!
blueboy Posted 22 February 2017 Posted 22 February 2017 What about El Bak too? Nice talent to have waiting in the wings.

His vision and weight of pass is top class just like Greg Stewart. I've said this before but with his age and ability I believe he will be a far better player than Greg is. He has everything you need, touch, vision, pace, desire, attitude and a real footballing brain and commitment to improve and do well. If he continues to improve season on season then it's very likey that come 21 he will break our transfer fee received record. 1

I think he's needed this season to settle in, considering the jump he's made. He's got all the ability and I think we'll see the best of him next season.

Just interested, In this day and age I think you will always play at a level lower than you're ability is capable of if you aren't strong. You look at the English Premiership,Celtic etc. and they are all strong athletes. All the best players will work on strength and only eat the most nutritious food. Even Messi who is a wee guy is strong and won't get pushed off the ball. Wighton has all the ability and part of the next step for him will be to build strength. Was reading about Brendan Rodgers comments on why Griffiths isn't good enough to start for Celtic at the moment. Basically saying its because he doesn't lead a 24/7 athlete lifestyle. Hopefully Hartley does ensure Wighton (and the rest of the players) live this sort of lifestyle as well because that is the sort of thing they need to progress.

Just a gut feeling guys ... i dont want him to leave but he`s not getting much of a run as a striker imo ... same thing happened to Loy under PH and he`s gone (doubt he`ll be back and shouldnt be either)
blueboy Posted 22 February 2017 Posted 22 February 2017 Think Loy's a class act too. Maybe he's peaked!
