Reverend Lovejoy Posted 28 February 2017 Posted 28 February 2017 Right enough guys. Seems to be a pretty one sided debate though.

chomp my root Posted 28 February 2017 Posted 28 February 2017 Just now, islaydarkblue said: See my latest topic. Yup, giving it the wide berth it deserves, hardly innovative. If every undertaker in Dundee is aware of it and has the pamphlets and its still not taking off I doubt it will be an overnight success. As for all of us being aware of Dens as a venue for a wake, its not something that most of us look into until it happens. Hate being so negative but you'll need to shake the grey matter a little harder I think. 1

If the club puts leaflets in the club shop, advertises the Funeral teas at Dens Park in the match day programme and club website then it should catch the attention of supporters. Nobody looks forward to arranging a funeral but most of us will probably have to do it at some time. At least we now know that Dens Park is an alternative venue. Incidentally does anyone know if undertakers get a commission from a hotel (s) for encouraging mourners to hold a funeral tea in their hotel.

Thanks for the advice. Prince seems to "have it in for me" but I will deal with him in my usual style. I have already replied to Chomp.

I have already replied to Chomp. I don't have it in for you at all Islay. I'm just not convinced you're genuine as in my experience nobody can be as blinkered an individual as you often come across on this board. Maybe I'm just lucky and have never met anyone in real life that is so adamant in their opinions (right or wrong) that they can't at least make an attempt to see more than one side of an argument. I genuinely think you're at it.

I'd suspect that's a 'racing certainty'....isn't it normal practice for the 'funeral director' to take care of all the arrangements on behalf of the family?
Ivan Drago Posted 1 March 2017 Posted 1 March 2017 Well this was a good thread that's gone to sh*t anyway
ChinaDee Posted 1 March 2017 Posted 1 March 2017 Budgeting for the top six is reckless and unrealistic in my opinion. How many times have we finished in the top six in the past 40 years? And we are now operating on the basis that we will always be in the top six? Reckless. I'm all for a new stadium, but, as for the cost of running Dens, if we're spending 200k a year on repairs, how much would be saved on a new stadium running costs? And where does the £20/30/40m come from to build it? Makes the 200k a year look cheap. 1
