With all due respect Islay, again you seem to be lacking the information that many of us already know about.

I have spoken to many people who work inside Dens Park and it is common knowledge that the South Enclosure is falling apart, and every year the cost of maintaining this is rising. The area behind the South Enclosure was basically a skip and we bought the Rangers old stand and built it on top of that.

The 'Derry' should have been demolished and rebuilt at the same time that we built the two new stands and the Main stand is also past its sell by date as well. It makes business sense to build a new stadium rather than trying to do patchwork repairs to one that isn't ours.

I am not arguing that we should remain at Dens. The area where the South Enclosure is situated used to be an open terracing  On page 223 of the original book "They Wore the Dark Blues" there is a photograph of spectators standing in pouring rain and sleet at a Dundee v Celtic game in March 1958. The attendance was 5,000 with most of the spectators housed in the Main Stand and the Main Stand enclosure. The photograph shows that the South Terracing was cinders with narrow strips of wood whereas now the terracing in the South Enclosure is concrete.

I think it would be very expensive to erect a new stand on the site of the South Enclosure as it is huge drop to Dens Road compared to the height of the terracing down to the pitch side.

From memory the club could barely afford to construct the Bobby Cox and Bob Shankly stands let alone the cost a new South Enclosure Stand.

Another comment that convinces me you're at it.

Please just answer the question.

Where is the crumbling terracing at Dens?

Or apologise.

What crumbling terracing at Dens has to do with the topic Funeral Teas at Dens Park is beyond me.

I agree therefore I will ask you why you felt it necessary at the time to reply to Gedee's original comment on the subject rather than saying 'What crumbling terracing at Dens has to do with the topic Funeral Teas at Dens Park is beyond me'.

If you dig a hole on an internet message board you're likely to be buried in it.

Oh, I made a pun :lol2:

Prince.

I enclose St Johnstone FC's Full Annual Accounts for the year ending 31st May 2015 which make interesting reading. I would pay particular attention to the report prior to the accounts.https://s3-eu-west-1.amazonaws.com/document-api-images-prod/docs/pbPS05luohicySQP_VH7HRrKoT3SEr20N7F-8682l68/application-pdf?AWSAccessKeyId=ASIAJBMDPBMYSDXK3LGQ&Expires=1488481840&Signature=ms9l2JN6Gbxv14o7lPQZO%2FJ1Kk8%3D&x-amz-security-token=FQoDYXdzEJH%2F%2F%2F%2F%2F%2F%2F%2F%2F%2FwEaDBixsuReBPQmJeR4jCKcA2HMyJa9fSiBhD5kGSiIZ1m%2FcdMJFjWIuzHnTKV7vMSHkmM6G96T7k5oSAZLQ%2BAETenTYFSVgvGs%2BSHBT8LAf0SOsT5Oplq8ogo%2FLCdOt%2BPOGIF%2BSM7svFIIiep1MfWAz5AnTsNPyK%2Fz3%2BmXREQTBf4inBrUlj3XxPAFFiZPCz3XbjrJA0rfxOa8KKfnOacBWQPR2I9TBzeZayU2%2FUBBIgbzhIu4Ea4mcAEsQJcAeSz2gSwzAYJdr3aCKCQEFuPQyYL%2Bd2421VCoibqrBnHP2f5g7MfB0jANdMO%2BnJRsj3mFOTF4oMDYzRhaRJ9CNDBOd979cC9fP3DpQ9pOJUvUcDQSxeICBhyxJIl3jrK1SE%2FBLnbtooYxOVVulAfMVPf2RyUzXfY%2BiRz%2FJSlHLgTAkBjY2LK0gYEU88hwWML1Ss1ok%2FtUf%2FD%2Fbym8SuEBV8i%2F3z3EoDu%2FInC1x4yKXCA3STjPQZQysw3UnM0OMsU8Qjiwq1MFUaYuQTZP%2Bn6vhQ6qtPXPz8JbO9qLQ%2BHQLQIUGgvbIsrUUhBn9F%2BIH4coioXhxQU%3D

Alternatively,

Click on 14th October 2015  "Full accounts made up to 31st May 2015".   https://beta.companieshouse.gov.uk/company/SC007629/filing-history

Either way the St Johnstone FC annual results make far healthier reading than our own annual accounts.
