Not much between the teams really. Had more of the ball in the second half without really being threatening. Was disappointed we couldn't exploit the space in behind their wing backs but credit to Thistle for the way they defended. We resorted to deep crosses into the box which weren't really causing any problems. Thought O'Dea was looking for the foul, but it is one of those the defender gets 9/10...just typical that the one time it isn't given is for us. I've seen some blanming Julen for putting it on his own goal which I think is harsh. Needed a clear shout from Bain because he was right behind him ready to collect it. Not saying Julen couldn't have done better just think it was more a lack of communication than anything. Hope his injury isn't is serious as it looked. Achilles injuries are always bad though.

There are teams that just seem to have a knack of knowing how to play other teams and Partick have certainly done that against us this season. We never really looked like scoring, nothing would fall for us at all and sometimes you just have to hold your hands up. I don't think there's anyone we can particularly point the blame at, same team and formation as produced two good results, but it just didn't go for us tonight. We move on to St. Johnstone and I don't see why we can't take 3 points there!

I'd be inclined to agree with this. For what it's worth, Thistle were very well drilled and gave us little space.

I reckon Wighton and O'Hara were taken out of the game quite well and Cammy was also halted on the half way line quite a bit. I don't really want to slate the team as when you have young players, you are going to have these days where they are going to struggle a lot more and these are the games that they will learn from. Didn't think there was anyone that bad and the work rate and pressing was still high but we just really couldn't get things going. Maybe a bit more of mental fatigue than physical.

Feel a lot better about the St Johnstone game than I did about last nights in all honesty. Our run of form has still been very good since the first run of fixtures so I'm confident we've got a couple of big results in us.

I thought we started okay but Partick didn't allow us to play the way we wanted. We resorted to too many long balls which were more clearances than measured passes. It was one of the games where whoever got the first goal would win it. Poor goal to lose. O'Dea can be stronger but in any other game a player barging into the blind side of the player is a foul. Julen has got to do better when it gets into the box too.

Second half we put some pressure on them but never really looked like creating. It was a case of launch the ball in the box and hope it falls to one of our players. We didn't play with the same intensity as we have done recently. O'Hara in particular, Kerr and Wighton didn't have the same energy.

Partick are a decent side who will finish top 6. Very well organised, good on the counter attack, have a goalscorer in Doolan and one of the best playmakers in the league in Erskine. It was always going to be a difficult night.

For us we really needed to win for top 6 to be realistic. The next 4 games we will probably need to take 6 points to keep pace.

I thought that Thistle put in one of the best defensive performances I have seen from a team at Dens for a long time. Really organised and Archibald had clearly done his due diligence on us.

O'Hara seems to revel in matches which are chaotic and disorganised due to his running and determination, however in games like last night he really seems to struggle when teams play in a structured fashion and his running just appears manic and he has little or no impact on the game. He is young and hopefully will improve.

Does Erskine only ever play well against us? Cannot stand him but he always causes us trouble.

Watching the goal back I'm not sure O'Dea has that much to complain about..

Looks like he's got himself in a bad position and then gone to ground easy hoping the ref will bail him out.

Reviewed the game in my mind since last night and the more I think about it the more credit I give to Archibald. I doubt its a secret that if you press us we tend to drop further back into our own half and that seems to disrupt our passing game. Archibald did it really well, he played his game and stopped us playing ours. We struggle against the big physical sides and even putting O'Dea into midfield didn't make a difference, pushing him further forward seemed even less effective to me but we had nothing to lose by that stage.

Hopefully we learned something in the post match wash up and they're working on it today.

That's a blatant foul for me. He's pushed from the back.

Shocking decision.

Watching it back, I'm still of the opinion that O'Dea made the schoolboy error of allowing Doolan to get goal-side, realised quickly that he'd messed up then went to ground relatively easily, trying to buy the free-kick. In saying that, Doolan does put the arm into O'Dea's back, with how much force though is debatable.

I'm not seeing a clear push on the back. Doolan is faster and favourite to win the ball. There's a coming together and O'Dea goes down.

So very disappointed with last night's result and outcome but being a 'dee fan how often have I felt that. If I'm honest I am a bit nervous about the run  in to the split. I hope that my fears are unfounded.

Re Paul Hartley's future. I think he may go at the end of the season but that will be dependent on our place in the league. If he goes who do we get in.

One things for sure. There is never a dull minute being a Dundee fan ???!!!

For me, there's no attempt to play the ball, it's not shoulder to shoulder it's a push from behind O'Dea.

A clear foul that is given 99% of the time.

I thought that at the game too, poor defending by O'dea.
