an-dee Posted 15 March 2017 Posted 15 March 2017 Saw on Twitter he's had another operation, but haven't seen it anywhere else. It's a blow for him if true, and if it is I really can't see him coming back from it at his age and with his injury history. Wish him all the best, though.
Gedee Posted 15 March 2017 Posted 15 March 2017 Described as a"clean-up" operation ... whatever that means.
Raptor Posted 15 March 2017 Posted 15 March 2017 Being a clean up, this will be part of the initial treatment and not a new injury. Not too fussed about this as ops now are greatly advanced than they were a few years ago. Good luck McPake...??

With some sports injury operations, including torn/detached ligaments, there may be bits of 'scar tissue' that form when the muscle around the injured area heals, or even tiny fragments of bone from a 'splinter' break...scar tissue is 'hard' & has no elasticity, and can cause inflamation & irritation/sharp pain when the joint's moving. Keyhole surgery is usually enough to fix it. I had some of this left over in a broken/dislocated shoulder (involuntary skiing 'somersault'), and couldn't raise the arm above my shoulder....but as I 'wasn't important enough' the solution wasn't a keyhole op, just forcing my arm up under local anaesthetic until there was 'a satisfying tearing sound' (the consultant's expression....definitely not mine!).
Abernethy Dee Posted 19 March 2017 Posted 19 March 2017 Ahhhhhhh sounds sair woodstein!!!! Good luck James and haste ye back.
