We're effectively seven points ahead with nine games to play. We don't need to win another game this season so we needn't be overly concerned about relegation during the international break. History would suggest we've f**ked up stronger positions Cobra!

True Ivan but our famous collapse of 2005 under JD saw us pick up nine points from our last nine games and the same again would do nicely. I'll be amazed if we don't ensure safety with a few games to spare. To get relegated we'd need to down tools and lose most or all of our remaining games. The likes of McGowan and O'Dea won't let that happen.

Then I'll kick back and enjoy Uniteds playoff campaign :-) 5

We never went out there to try and win, but to contain Celtic and nothing more. To give them the respect that we did was pretty much disgusting and it is about time we learned a lesson from this game. We need to stop giving teams respect and go for it. After we started at them we made it much more difficult for them and they started making mistakes. We are a better team than we are being set We gave them way too much respect. My mate said he saw one of our defenders get a Celtic strip at the end of the game. If true, shocking.

Players swap jerseys all the time and some of those Celtic players are top, top professionals; Dembele for instance is likely to go all the way in the game. Pretty sure if I had a chance at one of his shirts I'd grab it. Maybe one of our defenders is also a good mate of the guy he got the shirt from?

HK Blues Posted 20 March 2017 Posted 20 March 2017 Hard to get too upset over losing yesterday. More relieved we didn't get hammered. I'll admit that's not the most positive attitude but it's where we are at IMO. Top 6 looks very tough now, but not beyond us. However, we probably need to get an unexpected win v Dons or Hearts and beat County and Accies to jump over both Killie and Thistle. I'm expecting bottom 6 and a nervy last few games but think we're ok with a reasonable points gap and GD in our favour. I can't see all of the teams below us turning things around anyway although we might well finish 10th but with a few points to spare. Disappointing season if so but hey ho.

If we had gone gung ho against them we would have lost by at least a few goals. Honestly i didnt think Celtic were good yesterday , i thought we made it an easier game for them ... i dont expect Dundee to beat Celtic however i was p1ssed of by the way we approached it , we got right in at Rangers from the kick off but we didnt do this on sat til last 20 min. Im not saying gung ho - what i was meaning was we should have had alot more urgency in our play. Ross and El Bak must start against Aberdeen.
Gedee Posted 20 March 2017 Posted 20 March 2017 From the perspective of watching the game on TV it did seem PH had made up his mind from the outset ,that in the first half we were out there to frustrate them, by absorbing everything, Celtic were to throw at us in the first half ... And then, if we were successful in doing that, we would then go into the second half with a more offensive approach. I am not going to say this was the right, or wrong way to approach this game .... But we all know the might, talent, & capability of Celtic (unbeaten all season & near 100% wins) .... And so in fairness to PH & Players, this tactic nearly paid off. There are two things I would like to add ... A couple of days ago I started a Topic asking the question, Is it not time El Bac got a full game. The question may still be open, but he certainly did enough in his short 15 minute appearance to be given the opportunity of a full 90 mins. (imo) I don't agree with CC's (& others assessments) that PH got his tactics all wrong. I think on this occasion,he got it, just about right. But I agree that both Ross & El Bac must start against Aberdeen. The second point is DFC players should be approaching EVERY GAME in the same manner. Every game against any other team (as has been proved in the past) from any division) is there to win or lose. The work rate & focus has to be 100% in every game. Aberdeen are never going to make it easy for you. I think they will be harder to break than Celtic. So C'mon the Dee
