Thought he did well when he came on, must admit find his continued omission a wee bit strange

I have thought that for much of the season.

Makes time for himself on the ball and finds a blue jersey with 99% of his passes. It is very odd that he has dropped out of the picture given the struggles of those around him in midfield.

Me too, I'm biased though, the Fife Dark Blues sponsor his boots. :lol2:

I thought he was one of our best players last season once he'd got up to speed with what PH was wanting from him.

Ross was in favour early on but took a couple of injuries and when he come back, we were generally winning games so it wasn't really justified to bring him in. Don't think there was anything peculiar in it when you look at game to game match selections and the justification in it at the time.

Good few moves today and looked lively. Think his introduction worked quite well with the change in Celtic's tempo giving us a little bit more space to take advantage of and hoping we see a bit more of him. Think he's been a bit lucky in the timing of his comeback to fitness and other players being very similar.

He did ok today but I don't think he is much better than the others.

Very weak in the tackle and let's guy drift past him-like the rest of the midfielders-no dig/can't beat a man.

Just the type of players PH signs.

For me the thing is, you should play your best players and for me, Ross edges in front of Hately but we've seen Klok come off the bench in favour of him and Curran got a start while he was sitting on the bench. So yes, I agree Ross has featured on occasion, but injuries or not, he hasn't received the game time his previous contributions would suggest he maybe should have.

Hartley seems to have been searching for a CM combination all season and the Gowser - Ross pairing did well last season so I can't quite grasp why we haven't seen more of it this year.

Curran only played ahead of him when he had a knock and wasn't 100%. He was named on the bench a few times but he went off injured for the development side on more than one occasion. I think Klok was intended to be a completely different type of midfielder to what we have and got given a shot with the idea he'd give us a bit of bite so can see why he was maybe given a shot.

When Ross recovered from his injury, we were in great form with the midfield three raking up assists. As frustrating as Hateley can be, remove his contribution from earlier in the season and we lose a lot of points so it wasn't fair at the time.

I reckon we'll see a good bit more of him before the end of the season. I still think Hartley rates him.

I tried to give this post a like, but have used my quota. Good, insightful stuff as ever Harry.
