Half-time 1-1.

I see there's another testimonial happening across the street for Sean Dillon. United v Hearts. Former Dees Lee Wilkie and Scott Robertson are back in dayglo along with the legendary Garry Kenneth. That dirty b*****d Dave Bowman is also getting a run-out.

Any of the youngsters impressed you mate?

I like Higgins. Had to move back but seems pretty good all round. Quigley also looked good

Ian Smith had a good potential assist that had Faissal miss a very good chance (we've had a few howlers up front).

On another note, our rumoured transfer target, Josh Peters, took his goal nicely and looks decent.

Martyn Fotheringham’s testimonial kicks off at 7.45pm. It's £10 for adults and £5 concessions.

The Perth-born midfielder has spent the bulk of his career at Forfar. He also had spells at St Johnstone, Brechin, Montrose and Cowdenbeath.

The first time he faced the Dee was for Saints in 2001 at McDiarmid, when the dark blues ran out 2-0 winners thanks for goals from Juan Sara and Timuri Ketsbaia. The last time he faced Dundee was the 7-0 rout at Dens, when Greg Stewart scored twice in his last game for the club.

I think your stating the obvious, when you say he's spent the bulk of his career at Forfar, the clue is in testimonial, normally awarded after 10 years service

It's not really a point worth arguing over but if he was 39 or 40 then the bulk of his career would have been spent elsewhere.

Two cracking goals from El Bakh to warm the soul on a bitterly cold night.  Tempo of the game was higher than I thought it would be for a friendly, although Kosta clearly didn't fancy it!  Of the kids I liked the look of Higgins from Celtic and Coupe showed something when he came on.  Some nice touches from Ian Smith too but I'm told he doesn't show enough on a regular basis.  Quigley looks like a fairly solid if unspectacular left back and Mitchell did fairly well in goal.  Wighton brilliant one minute then very frustrating the next, showing why he's far from the finished product yet and I failed to see what Klok brings to the party.  All in all, worth a trip out the house, hope the Farfir Loon Foxy enjoyed his night!

Klok is a strange one. I thought he looked great at some points and utterly lost at others. The amount of 'coaching' he was receiving from Hartley and Boyle was unbelievable. To put it mildly, he was never quite where they wanted him to be on the park. Some nice touches in a friendly, but he's miles off top flight level in my humble (and decidedly non-expert) opinion. Some have said he's shown up well in the development games, so hopefully it was an off night tonight.

I liked the look of Ian Smith when he came on. A little case of enthusiasm over end product, but he's direct pacy and wants the ball. I also liked the wee (in fact tiny) lad Rice who stood up well at right back and looks a nifty wee player.

Kemback's assessment of the other younger lads is also pretty much spot on.

A decent, if bloody freezing, game by friendly standards. Thoroughly enjoyed it and El Bak took his goals well, while Wighton looked a little disinterested, in between some lovely flicks and touches. Oddly Williams was leading the line before the reshuffle when Gadz went off and then played CM.
