Cobra Posted 25 March 2017 Posted 25 March 2017 (edited) I noticed that Nacho Novo scored the only goal for Glentoran on Friday night and realised that 15 years ago this week he scored the equaliser at (New?) Brockville on our way to Hampden in the Scottish Cup. He'll never be the most popular former Dee but he was a decent player for us. Edited 25 March 2017 by Cobra 2
chomp my root Posted 25 March 2017 Posted 25 March 2017 I'm not going to rewrite history, I had a bit of man crush on him back in the day, now while I'm more likely to put him in a headlock these days, he was a pretty feckin' good signing for us. Kudos to him for still playing, still a wee snake though. 2
chomp my root Posted 25 March 2017 Posted 25 March 2017 Having just watched that I was reminded of a really, really, really tenuous link to Jonay Hernandez, when we bought our house from Wimpey we had to go the 'options centre' so they could squeeze some more cash out of us (the missus). After me getting all nippy about getting things sorted so I could get back to watch the football I was politely asked "what team" by one of the lassies flogging us (the missus) the stuff that either I or mates could do. As it turned out Jonay Hernandez had bought exactly the same house (probably nearer Dundee) but they 'couldn't' tell us what extra options he'd got. I think its safe to say I've had more use out of my gaff than he had out of his. 2
WeighorstsWang Posted 25 March 2017 Posted 25 March 2017 Jonah was excellent. Skin 5 boys, pirouette then step over has four men open in the box - almost everytime find trap 2 in the middle of the concourse. A special talent! 1
UWTB1893 Posted 25 March 2017 Posted 25 March 2017 I didn't even know Novo was still playing! My last memory of him was when he was whoring himself to The Rangers crowd when we played them in a friendly at Dens. He was choking for a move back to them at that point.
barkblue Posted 25 March 2017 Posted 25 March 2017 Strange to think that's a Morrisons now. How many good old football ground are bloody supermarkets now?

To be fair to Morrisons, their Brockville store has a fair amount of old Falkirk FC pictures and the like around the place.

I'm looking forward to Rosyth Rec's ground being turned into a Lidl's (that's the word on da street) we don't have one close by. Viva supermarkets.
