Do Desperate Times Call For Desperate Measures? Now !!

I may be wrong, but reading the tone of the posts on here tonight, and over the past few weeks, it seems I would think, an accepted fact, by just about everyone on here, that PH will NOT be our manager next season (I apologise to anyone who holds a different view, if this general assumption is out of place) In truth, if this was the case, I believe the time to dismiss PH was a few weeks ago, when, although it was still possible things may improve, I think the general belief, was things were not going to get any better.

But as each week passed producing another POINTLESS game (six now) the view I am assuming held by the BOD was, although worried, maybe the next game will give us that victory ... And with it a change of fortune (I accept this assumption on behalf of the BOD may be entirely wrong) ... but as we don't hear anything from them, I have got to believe there are at least discussions going on.

Now I believe, even with only SEVEN DAYS to go before we meet Hamilton, the BOD should be doing everything possible, to get a manager in  ASAP. In fact, although I do feel something should have been done, at least a few weeks before it reached this stage, and certainly accept, asking even a caretaker manager to take charge  at this time is ridiculous ... Now I feel the urgency of our present predicament means we have little option .... (IMO)

PH may, or may not, coax a victory out of our player the next game .... A new manager (temporary or otherwise) may or may not, coax a victory out of our players ...  I REALLY DON'T KNOW.

But even at this very late stage, I do believe something has to be done ... I am not at all confident PH &/or the players, under our present manager will get the three points.

The only thing that matters to me is the success/survival of DFC ... And us as fans & supporter are all in this together.

Meaning we can all hold extreme varying views. But we love Our Club:wub:.

THE BOD AND THE DFC PLAYERS STARTING FROM NOW,

SHOULD BE AT DENS, FROM DAWN TO DUSK TO TRY TO,

SORT OUT THIS PRESENT MESS, OVERTHE NEXT 6 DAYS.

& BOARDROM TELEPHONE SHOULD BE ON OVERDRIVE!!

(And yes I am angry & disappointed...Apologies for the rant)

IMO this is one of the most serious situations we have faced and boy we have had a few in our time.

Unfortunately I for one do not think we are in good shape for facing Accies next week, they and every other team know we are weak as p iss.

Get in our faces and we roll over.

Looking at the table, as little as 7 points could see us safe, alas this looks like a big ask.

I for one am past suggesting better formations or tactics as there does not seem to be anything left to try with this squad.

Unless the BOD spend a decent chunk of cash to find somebody out there that can perform a miracle, it looks like we are stuck with Mr Hartley.

Good Evening Rev .Even a short contained response, is better than nae response at awe Freend :)

I'll take it the spirit I think it was given. If the OP sounded a bit screwed & mad, jist blame it on PH

Agree Spirit. If we are stuck with PH the only thing we can do is get behind our team and give them our best support. The last thing we need is to give up, and start arguing amongst ourselves.

I think the trouble has been that we have been very very loyal and supported the team. This has been taken as acceptance of the status quo by John Nelms, and I think he has misunderstood the true situation at our club.

I see where you are coming from Gedee but it is too late, IMO. Let us hope that the pattern of our play changes and things are turned around. I am not convinced that there would be any bounce from the appointment of a new manager.

There's been consistent comment that the players just are not good enough to play  against a more physical side. What do you do in circumstances like that? That see,s to be the riddle that PH has yet to solve. The players have got into bad habits        by conceding territory and possession on a regular basis. Working hard, full contact training session where the emphasis is on running to close down the player with the ball. Get the under 20's to remind them what they should be doing. Less talk, much more action.

It looks to me very much, that the BOD have accepted, that little will change at this late date ... It's just that I feel, as the ones (BOD) with the power, it was only them, who had the ability to make the change in the weeks leading up to this point. If it was fully discussed at the time & currently, as each defeat came along ... and the conclusion reached by them, was, better to leave things as they are, in the belief PH would find that illusive win ...Then I may have accepted this.

But it's my opinion/feeling, that they avoided facing up to the crisis situation that was developing before their eyes (All supposition I know)  Bringing a new manager in at this late date is absolutely NOT ideal (But neither is anither defeat) ...

But just like yourself Spirit' (& ithers) The sentiment you've expressed in your post are no' that far away from my own.  But just to make one thing clear ..

I have no simmering hatred, or even dislike for PH  or any of our DFC Players. But I am concerned.

A victory next week will be welcome (A controlled &understated comment :bouncy:See eh'm still calm) :jawdrop:

Speaking of arguing amongst ourselves, anyone know the two guys who were having a right ding-dong (well one was) in front of the exit just before FT?? One guy losing his sh*t, the other just smirking. Smirking guy's comment as I passed had me in stitches. Said in a very calm tone "you look very much like a homosexual" :lol2:

Just for a minute put yourself in PH's shoes this week leading up to the Accies game.

How the hell do you get the squad to buy into your bs team talk?

I hope T Keys gives them all a reality check as to how relegation will effect the club and peoples jobs.

Mind you, they would probably freeze in fright.
