Gowser must have had a premonition

p*ss weak and sh**e is exactly how I would sum up his attempt at a tackle on Gocalves.

Edited to add- some save by Bain from the Djoum header and if only Holt had gambled on that Hately Free kick

I think McGowan is conscious of trying to avoid a penalty and looking to block the shot from Golcalves but Golcalves cleverly delays the shot.

Bain shouldn't be letting that shot go between his legs and I'm thinking with 13 minutes gone their main striker should be marked by one of our centre backs in our box rather than a midfielder being left to deal with it.

It's an absolute joke that Gomis is one of only two fit first-team centre-backs at the club and he couldn't be trusted to play. If ever there was an argument for a player being sacked for failing to perform it's this guy.

Holt gets caught in no man's land in the build up and nobody comes in to cover. It's a classic example of the opposition taking advantage of a team trying to adapt to yet another shape that doesn't suit the players.

We are losing early goals constantly because the players barely play with the same personnel or formation 2 games in a row.

It's no coincidence that our best run of the season came when we put roughly the same team out for a run of games.

When Hartley talks about the preparation being right for games he thinks training all week with a formation means that he has prepared the team correctly. It's nonsense, because what he's putting on the park is unworkable most of the time. It might look good when he's playing FIFA on the X-Box.

Good grief.

If we stay up, it will be a miracle and not one of Hartley's making.

Anyone think that Higgins could maybe do a job in midfield (where Jimmy Boyle seems to be trying to convert him to)? I thought some of his touches on the ball (for example, he had the ball fall to feet at the edge of the box and had some tidy play which made me think it was Wighton initially) looked really good and he seemed to have a lot more composure than McGowan. He seemed to be comfortable with both feet as well.

Not sure if it's the time to try it but I get the feeling he'd maybe offer a lot more defensively in midfield and he looks a better natural footballer than McGowan at a glance so could maybe link up well. At the back, he's a wee bit limited in size which could be an issue against some teams but he looks physically mature enough to handle most players.

Very unfortunate that a spectacularly negative approach from Hartley, and 6 defeats in a row have detracted from an excellent debut from Higgins. Two footed and didn't flap.

We had two 19 year olds and two 21 year olds on the park yesterday, what a pity that Hartley didn't trust his team enough to set them up to attack, they're good enough to do it.

Maybe he should have trusted Higgins before even bringing in Gomis?

Easy for me to say that now of course.

Kerr and CW are progressing nicely and gaining valuable experience. Gourley and Ferrie are both good young keepers. Curran, Skelly and Dryden are doing well on loan. Now we have Higgins make a promising debut. Would be great to think some of them could be important players in a year or 2. Pity they didn't have top players to look up to.

Just watched sportscene highlights there. Our performance was even worse than had thought at the game.

Midfield absolutely no where. We have to play a normal 4 man midfield because these players aren't good enough to play a 3. They don't know where they should be.

Mcgowan in particular needs dropped. As the season has gone on he has brought less and less to the team.
