The Only Positive From Today

Recommended Posts

6219 Dees at Dens today. Biggest home crowd of the season by a distance (previous biggest was 5800 Dees against Rangers in the opening game of the season at Dens).

Sadly we won't see at least 1000 of them back anytime soon.

Felt sorry on the family day. Cold wind and rain blowing into them after about 3 weeks of spring/summer weather and not even a goal for the bairns to cheer. Hope they had a great day regardless.

This season has been the first of me taking my daughter along to a few games.

Three games, all at Dens, have seen 1 draw and 2 defeats with an aggregate score of 10-1. Incredibly she's keen to keep going.

But I think she may be a jinx.

Haha. I'm sure she'll see us win next season mate.

I hope so!

I was told after the Aberdeen game she would only go back if:

1. We play a team other than Aberdeen - check

2. We play someone rubbish - check (Hamilton are schyte)

3. We win - I wish I could guarantee victories (she's a lot to learn as a Dee).

Great life lessons though.

I'll wish you well mate. I took my three girls in the Kerno season and after 9 games and not one win the enthusiasm started to dwindle and none have ever been back... :(

I have regaled her with the stories of our great performances and victories down the years and I think she's starting to think I've made it all up.

I kept showing her the celebrations at the dump when McPake equalised at the death (pointing me out to prove I was there!) but now I get asked why it's not always like that.

I ask myself the same question at times tbh.

Nice one mate, started my 10 year old daughter last season, and she is a bigger fan than me now and I have watched them for 43 years, makes me travel every possible away game again now too, she's not a jinx just another Dee! Enjoy.?

I don't know mate, seeing as she's seen us win a point I'd say she's more of a lucky mascot than a jinx!

AD and 8utters. Indeed a positive from yesterday. Without all getting sentimental my son started going when he was 10 and now he goes to (almost) every game. As I've said before I enjoy the day out and the travel through often more than the game. Real good times to chat and bond. I'm sure you are the same. Part of the reason I'm not so annoyed about going to Kilmarnock: apparently he wants to taste the pies! Enjoy the family times friends: I'm sure, like I've promised my son, there will be a time when he sees Dundee do well. Although I'm sure my dad said that to me before! I did say that watching Stewart, Hemmings and Harkins last season and relegating Utd may however be the best it gets before he leaves home (or gets married, or has grandchildren).
