Team For Motherwell

Wattie Rojas

Personally I'd drop Bain as his confidence at crosses is shot and his heads left already imo.

Mitchell isn't great but he's got it all to prove.

Gadz and odea at centre half, hateley and holt at fullback.

Ohara and Williams wide, ross and Vincent at cm. Haber and elbak up front.

bain Higgins dryden gowser Wighton smith ojamaa

Send gomis back to France.

cammy is suspended or else I would have had him at rm

What will be interesting is the performance...If they go there and play as they have we will then know they are indeed not very good but if they go there and battle away for everything and get the win..We will then know they downed tools for Hartley and were stealing a wage the last 7 game's

I'd go around the same wattie but can't make the leap of faith that Mitch is the man for a crucial game like this.

Id be tempted to play Wighton to start and bring on El Bak when they are tiring.

With the exception of one player I don't think they have downed tools. The players couldn't have tried harder up in Dingwall. They are just playing with no belief and that must suck the energy out of them when they go behind.

Wighton has to be involved in midfield. Only chance of creativity.

Not for me, he does not work hard enough for me to play midfield. He is decent just off a striker but if he has any responsibility going the other way it will leave us exposed.

Craig clearly has ability but it's a worry that there are so many other areas of his game that seem to be lacking.

I like the look of Rossdee01's team as it's largely round pegs in round holes.

Agreed...although clearly talented, Wighton's been playing like he has no confidence recently....his form in 2-3 earlier games (Hearts, St.J, ?) would see him start every game, but he's slipped out of that form again. If that was a consequence of tactics, position, or dodgy relationship with PH, then he does have an opportunity to create the right impression now.

McGowan needs to park the 'destructive' side of his temperament (eg, the 5 minute nonsense with El Bak), and find his driving, positive focus again.

Whoever gets the short-term job will have to quickly assess the form, fitness & mental attitude of every player & find a formation he believes can 'lock the back door' and grind out the 7-9 or so points we need.

I'd expect him/them to be utterly ruthless in selecting that team, for each of the 5 games. Reputation & potential oot the windie...survival mentality required.
