Things arent going well at all at Dens the now, seems to be alot of grumblings in the backround, my question is do you think the problem is with Hartley or with players such as Mcgowan, Roberts and Harkins

3 players who seem to have a reputation for being problem players.

Im still with Hartley (just) but i do wonder if he regrets these signings more say for a personality clash reasons than anything else.

Its kinda like Rodgers with the Balotelli signing, sometimes players can make or break you.

If they are a problem then Hartley has to be strong and find ways to out them, he`s got to live die by the sword type expression cos if he`s fails and is sacked then he`ll look back with regret.

Things may well be fine in the dressing room (i dont no) just get a gut feeling that there is a personality clash going on behind the scenes.

[edit] No need to explain yourself here. Welcome aboard :)

The truth is the fans know very little.

We're too quick to speculate with basically no knowledge of the situation.

Always assuming there's some kind of issue when in actual fact we are just playing sh**e.

Can i just thank the mods for allowing me on here, i did explain from full honesty that i am CC33 from the mad, without going over old ground i didnt feel like i stood a chance from the get go over there, i also admit i wasnt whiter than white either, anyway thanks for the chance and if there is any dee on here ive had issues with from the past i hope for a fresh start on here as this is a very good site, i swithered for a month or so wether i should post then i thought yeah im a Dee like everyone else and its a platform for me to ask question such as ive just done.

Hi CC33 you legend.

You've either heard genuine grumblings or have a gut feeling that there are problems.

Don't believe everything that you read on a football forum or that your Arab mates tell you they heard in The Troll Inn.

Yea i know Abdul

Just thinking Roberts, Harkins, Mcgowan and Hartley id imagine have big personalities and wondered if has been a clash.

If there has / is then there can only be one outcome either Hartley goes or finds a way for them to go as it cannot work all being at club at same time.

Like i and you say we dont know but i do honestly think something is definatley not right behind the scenes given the recent awfull form.
Mcgowan raging when subbed,
Harkins bust up rumour and Roberts just being a phanny ha

Harkins rumour is just nothing more than a rumour. He said himself it's just a 'sh**e rumour with no truth in it.'

McGowan would still be raging in a big empty house and I prefer it when he is playing.

Roberts, just needs to show some resolve and get his head down and start fighting for a place or he could find himself in the lower leagues or in another Job.

I think the problem here is that PH has taken a huge gamble by signing a bunch of players who either have strong personalities or some sort of issues/attitude problem. Signing one player like this in the belief you can straighten them out is fine but taking on a bunch of them in the hope of keeping them all in check is one hell of a risk!!

Was it a risk worth taking?? The next few months will give us the answer to that.....but right now it doesn't look like a wise decision.

Roberts, unless he improves greatly will be out the door and is really a bit part player, unless he improves. doubt that he would cause Hartley any great problem.

DarkBlues - do you think there could be a personality clash between Hartley and Harkins tho?

If Hartley is p1ssed off with Harkins casual style of play then Hartley should have known what type of player he was getting.

There is no doubt in my mind that these 3 players could be problem players have all 3 have had issues in the past with previous clubs for various reasons, these types are always big gambles.

They need to be managed in a very delicate way imo.

Don't think there is a clash of egos. I think the problem is that we have been hit with a lot of injuries and suspensions recently. Harkins, McGowan and Thomson have all had injuries that have kept them on the sidelines and it would be nice to have them all playing together for longer than a few weeks.

Do you think a midfield of Thomson Harkins and Mcgowan can work?

I dont, i just dont see balance in it.

Be interesting if Hartley tries to let go any of our big names in january.

It's the nature of football.. All the tension, bogey man stories and stewards inquiries are the end product of not winning football matches. Our form is abysmal, our team is completely devoid of confidence and our supporters nerves are in tatters... At the end of the day it is the manager who is employed to put a team on the park that is capable of overcoming the challenges thrown at them to win games. The old "once the players cross that white line" cliche is only a modern day sympathy vote for a manager unfortunatley.

When a few individuals are suffering a loss of form, those players are in the firing line.

When it's pretty much the entire squad (as it's almost been for us of late) then you need to start looking at the overall mood, approach and leadership from the management team and the club as a whole.

I am still behind Hartley 100% and feel that if we can get the breaks and start notching a few victories back on the board, all the disconcerting rumours and concerned grumblings fade away into the back ground.

Dressing room divides, ticket prices, player strengths and weakness'.. Win games at all costs and they are all "manageable"
