Next Match: Kilmarnock (Away 6th May 2017)

This will be match 2 of our mini must win league. Kilmarnock seem to be doing well and all but safe from the drop now.

The last 3 matches of this season between the sides as seen two draws and a Kilmarnock home win last December which ended 2 - 0. The season before proved that we can go there and get a result, winning 4-0 at the start of last season and winning 3 - 1 the season before that.

However, under Lee McCulloch Kilmarnock have been a lot harder to break down and pushed up the league.

A win next week will take us two points behind Kilmarnock, who won 2- 0 this weekend against Hamilton.

It will be interesting to see if McCann will bring back Cammy Kerr at right-back or stick with Hateley?

Would like to see Hateley stay at full back, and stay defensive as he doesn't have a great engine, then we could push Cammy into right midfield with a license to get wide and forward as often as possible swinging crosses in for Haber.

I get the impression that with team selection it will be a case of Horses for Courses.  I suspect that Gomis started yesterday to add a bit of strength to the back four and he wasn't really pushed around by the Motherwell front three like Ghadz or Higgins might have been.   His mental shoulder barge apart (after he had been booked) he kept the head, so I don't think we'll see any change there.

I'm sure McCann will look at it tactically with regard to Hateley and Kerr but I can't remember the last time I saw a full back give a wide man so much space.  I suppose it worked yesterday but on another day?

Every game ahead of us now is imporant & so the game against Killie falls aso into that category.

However yesterday's game was the significant one as far as I was concermned .... First game wih a new manager...away from home... with same players that were part of our seven game losing run...are our precarious position desperate for points. Although I think I put in my fair share of (over) positive posts leading up to yesterday's game, I really wisnae so confident & meh nerves were jangling.   But didn't it turn oot weel? ... Us doing the business against a team, just as deperate for points. ICT no managing to piock up even one point. And then oor good pals killie (no next week mind) picking up the three points off the Accies. We still have a long way to go. And we awe ken Killie is going to be a real tough one. But surely the confidence will be growing :)

NM to players ..."The recent results are past. I've seen enough to know you're better than OK. What is past is just that, PAST"

"Now eh've got this new system here, I want you to study" (oot comes 100 flip charts) "Stop !! Only Kidding Lads !!" he quickly

adds, as they awe get jammed in the doorway, fighting each ither to make a fast getaway & escape fae this Mad New Manager.

"This is the plan. Have belief in yourselves. Focus. Give 100%. Keep it Simple. Work for Yourselves & Each Other. & Enjoy it"

Post Match ..." I asked you to do what I know you can do & it worked. Thanks lads. What a support. Same against the Killie":bouncy:

Steady lads now no' too much excitement. But it's great to be part o' the Leading Premiership City Club. The  Mighty Dee

I thought the barge was fair, he caught up with the guy and used his upper body strength to push him off, at first glance I winced and thought it looked bad but it was shoulder to shoulder. At least that's how I saw it.
