Inverness Ct Game Moved to Wednesday Now

Recommended Posts

Due to a potential clash with the Ladbrokes Premiership Play Offs our match with Inverness Caledonian Thistle has been moved to Wednesday the 17th of May.

The match will kick off at 7.45, please see below for a statement from the SPFL.

The SPFL can today confirm the dates, kick-off times and live broadcast information for the upcoming Ladbrokes Premiership Play-Offs.

Morton are now confirmed as the fourth placed club in the Ladbrokes Championship which means they will play at home in the first leg and away in the second leg of the Ladbrokes Premiership Play-Off Quarter-final against the club in third place (currently Dundee United).

In order to avoid a clash of fixtures in the city of Dundee on Saturday, 13 May, the Ladbrokes Premiership Play-Off Quarter-Final ties will be played as follows:

Ladbrokes Premiership Play-Off Quarter-final Leg 1: Morton v Ladbrokes Championship 3 – Tuesday, 9 May, 7.45pm

Ladbrokes Premiership Play-Off Quarter-final Leg 2: Ladbrokes Championship 3 v Morton – Friday, 12 May, 7.45pm

In the event that Dundee United do finish in third place in the Ladbrokes Championship and subsequently prevail over Morton in the Ladbrokes Premiership Play-Off Quarter-final, they would be scheduled to meet the Ladbrokes Championship Runners-up in the first leg of the Ladbrokes Premiership Play-Off Semi-final at Tannadice on Tuesday 16 May at 7.45pm (a fixture which will be broadcast live on BT Sport).  In order to avoid a potential clash of fixtures in the city of Dundee on Tuesday, 16 May the Ladbrokes Premiership round 37 fixture Dundee v Inverness Caledonian Thistle is now rescheduled for Wednesday, 17 May at 7.45pm.

The Ladbrokes Premiership Play-Off Semi-Final ties will be played as follows:

Ladbrokes Premiership Play-Off Semi-Final Leg 1: Quarter-Final Winner v Ladbrokes Championship Runners-up – Tuesday, 16 May, 7.45pm – Live on BT Sport

Ladbrokes Premiership Play-Off Semi-Final Leg 2: Ladbrokes Championship Runners-up v Quarter-Final Winner – Friday, 19 May, 7.45pm – Live on BT Sport

Might need to take a trip along to the beasterdome next year Friday to see them consigned to the Fundesliga for another year. The fact half the money goes to the league and a perecentage to Morton means it's slightly more tempting than usual.

I personally prefer midweek games, especially when the weather is better and whilst the switch makes it a bit hectic getting home from work and out again, it's manageable.

Complete lack of consideration for ICT fans though and pretty much sums up why Scottish Football is fecked - placing a lower league clash ahead of a top flight game especially when it is easier for any of the teams who are likely to be involved for their fans to travel.

Suppose it's just the blazers trying to polish a t**d as usual.

I have just noticed this on the club website.

I will now have to contact Calmac tomorrow morning and move my booking from Wednesday 17th May to Thursday 18th May as I had arranged a trip to Dundee to attend both the home games. I will also have to cancel an appointment at my GP's for Thursday 18th May. Life is not easy supporting Dundee when you live on Islay and the bosses at the SPFL do not consider the supporters. I suppose this is another case of "money talks".

Just for the sake of saying something, couldn't they have waited until Saturday evening to make the decision?

Ruined my effin week, actually my life, this has!

The game was scheduled for the night of the play-off semis. They would have had to have waited until the United v Morton playoff (should that be the way it pans out) was played before knowing for definite if there would be a clash on that night which would have been 5 days notice.

The play off semi dates were originally given as the Wednesday and Saturday and now changed to the Tuesday and Friday for TV coverage. The League game with ICT would not have been affected in this original case but now, as you state, is being moved just in case there was to be a clash. Sort of hope we are safe by then and of course Morton recover their form and do the business against the DABs.
