When Did A Dundee Player Last Score 4 Goals In A League Game?

A random question guys but someone asked me yesterday and for the life of me I couldn't answer him.....in 50 year's of following the dees I certainly can't remember anyone scoring 4 in a league game.

Tommy Coyne v the Pars in a 5-0 win at Dens in 1987. Before that Ian Redford did it against St Mirren in a 4-1 win at Dens in 1979 and Billy Pirie did it in 1978 in a 6-0 home win over Alloa.

Cheers Cobra I had an inkling that Billy Pirie might have scored 4 in a 5-3 win over St Johnstone but wasn't sure. As for Tommy Coyne and Ian Redford I can't remember those games although I must have been at them  as I hardly missed a game through the 70's  80's and 90's... has to be old age kicking in ?

Who scored in the 6-0 victory over East Stirling in the league cup run in 1995? Tried to find a more recent example but failing and that's the one game that isn't accounted for but is a possibility.

I remember McCann scoring a cracker with his right and Duffy saying afterward they thought it was just for standing on. No idea who got the others though

Seem to remember Jerry O'Driscoll getting a handful in a game like this.

I don't think anything could surpass what Bert Juliussen did in two successive league games in March 1947. First he scored six goals at Alloa in a 10-0 win and then he went one better and scored seven in another 10-0 win over the Pars at Dens a couple of weeks later.

In the last 11 games of that season he scored an incredible 29 goals.

McCann scored 4 the others coming from Hamilton and Wieghorst.

 I thought Gerry Britton's four goals in the B&Q Cup in a 6-0 win over Arbroath was the last time it had happened (in all comps) but McCann's four-goal haul came the following season.
