Loy wasn't having a great season, partly I suspect because we played with zero width. However given I can't even remember ojamaa getting a shot on goal I think I'd much rather have paired loy up with haber and not bothered with ojamaa.

Can't really disagree with that Wattie, I'll not rewrite history, I was chuffed when we signed Loy I thought he would be a great asset. That it didn't work out (so far) is a bit of a pisser, maybe too late and the damage has been done, hopefully not but I'd like to see Loy play alongside Haber, the classic target man and 'box man' (fnarr fnarr).

I've always liked Loy and felt Hartley didn't get the best out of him. Looking forward to seeing him under a new manager in Dundee colours next season. He's a great finisher when he's on song.

Ojamaa's work rate was key to the run of good results that centred round the win against Rangers.

I spoke to a few to Motherwell supporters when we signed hm and they all said his build up play and attitude was good, but he was never a goalscorer (although he scored against us, of course...).

That said, he's been poor since his initial impact.

In terms of system I couldn't see Loy getting anymore than a few minutes here and there in this team, so his impact would have been minimal as well I'd guess.

I go for a pint with a member of a SPL club management  team who have been watching Loy. Says play him through the middle with a decent supply from the wings and he will score.

There is this myth that Loy is a great goalscorer, he averages a goal every 4 games, that's not good enough for us to be challenging for a top 6 place

He was a clssic Hartley type signing, performing well in the lower leagues but unfortunately not good enough for the premier league

I would rather we played Wighton or El Bak up front with Haber than bring Loy back

Maybe I am being harsh on Loy but I think it would be best to move him on and look elsewhere

I've said the same. Look at his goals for Falkirk. Mainly 6 yard strikes from cut backs from the byline. It'll never catch on at Dens though...

I actually agree with your sentiments on Loy, even though I had high hopes for him.

However if we're going to rely on Wighton and El Bak for our goals, then we're going to struggle. Both have bags of talent, but neither are out and out goal scorers.

I don't know why you'd want to play Loy centrally when you can stick him out wide until his confidence is shot and he can't hit a barn door.

It might be a Dundee thing, Cobra, we did the same with Griffiths when he was at Dens

I liked Loy and thought he was going to be a goalscorer for us but it didn't work out that way

And Colin McMenamin. He scored regularly for every club he played for except us... go figure...
