It's interesting that Neil McCann has played him in his first two games. Not being able to see him live has he improved or is he still a liability ? It's interesting that Gadz has not featured,is he still injured ?

I think Gomis is actually a really good player, who at times has simply not looked remotely interested (even if it makes him look awful)

He has looked class against the Old Firm and has made Dembele look a poor player when up against him.

I wonder if he is trying to impress for a new deal? I always thought he would only be here one season as his family are all back in France, but who knows?

Gomis has spent pretty much his whole life in France so it's probably quite hard to join in the banter of the Dundee dressing room. Given that Hartley was quite stand-offish with the players (according to Kevin Thomson), it's perhaps no great surprise if Gomis found himself on the fringes of the squad and pining for a return home.

I get the feeling McCann has come in and made players feel appreciated and involved and that's possibly given Gomis the motivation to show the best of his game.

McCann stressed at the weekend how he trusted the players to get a result. If Gomis is told that he's a good player and he's trusted to perform, that's going to have a positive impact on his mindset and performance level.

Regardless of what you think his impact has been, you don't get a game for Nice and touted as one of the most promising players in that league at one point unless you've got something about you.

You say that but how many Scottish players were going to be the next big thing, only to feck it up one way or another.

Expanding the topic to down south, the biggest example for me would be Lee Sharpe. 

I remember when he broke through he looked a better player than Giggs. Just proves attitude is as important as talent.

Was he really any good though? I never rated him at all. I think his best return of goals in a season is about 15 which over his career is pretty poor.
