Would loved tae have seen these two on the pitch at the same time.Surely Mcgowan played where hateley was and whighton where mcgowan was would have provided more scoring opportunities. No meaning tae be negative, but mcgowan is no a no 10!

Comments like this is why people think managing a team would be easy.

CW can't hassle and defend.  Simple answer.

Gowser's hassling style was key today. Wighton simply doesn't play the game that way, so we wouldn't have had as much of the ball. Whereas I wouldn't have wanted Gowser playing the role Ross ended up doing so well.

Wighton's a hugely talented laddie, but I'd guess it's fair to say that he needs to kick on next season. We've seen a few great flashes him this season but not much more to be honest.

This was Wightons season to kick on and show his talent, yes he is young but he has not shown much this year which is hugely disappointing. Cammy kerr has shown so much promise that I'm amazed he had very little hype the past few years.

Certainly most of us would agree (even I suppose if were no' fitba managers, or even kent that much aboot fitba) that the team has tae hae the right balance on the day to be effective. But nevertheles, the thought o' El Bak & Craig Wighton, on top scoring form, playing together on the day, does make me feel excited. NM seems to know what he's about. And if we can make the assumption, that we will not be relegated and he will still be with us (or even another manager) I'd be happy for him to decide, if/when the time is right.

McGowan playing further forward is a mastersroke; uses his strengths in a way where we are more able to press, (and win) the ball further forward as well as him having the energy to support attacks when we are in possesion.

Genius from McCann, no one saw this tactical change coming.

This!

I know cammy was the sponsors mom but I thought McGowan was excellent yesterday... Ok his composure and distribution could be better but he works his socks off hassling and harrying... You need that sort of attitude and I'm sure NM sees that too

It has worked perfectly so far. Am I right in saying that was where he tended to play for St Mirren?

Surely whighton,s natural position is as number 10, just in behind Haber. He is never a left winger, where he has been getting played.

As for Cw can,t hassle and defend, didnae see much o,this from Greg Stewart.Would you have dropped Stewart? No every player is a hassling and defending type. That,s why we have defenders/holding midfielders.

We had the players to cover for Stewart. Right now we don't.

Every player should be a defending type. Defensive duties start from Haber. The best teams in the world have their strikers chasing the balls and hassling.
