MORE than 10,000 Rangers fans have signed up to an online petition in less than 24 hours as part of a plan to starve the current regime out of Ibrox.

Protest group the Sons of Struth launched the "not a penny more" campaign on social media on Tuesday night after leader Craig Houston decided to call for a total boycott of matches and merchandise.

And by teatime last night, about 10,200 of his fellow supporters had agreed to keep their cash in their pockets until such time as the under-fire board strikes a deal with a consortium of wealthy supporters who are offering millions to bail the club out of its current financial crisis.

Record Sport revealed yesterday how chief executive Derek Llambias had been summoned to Hampden to brief SPFL chief executive Neil Doncaster on the full extent of the club’s cash flow problems.

Llambias assured Doncaster that Rangers will not be plunged into administration because they have at least one rescue package already on the table from the group headed by motor mogul Douglas Park and which includes George Letham and George Taylor.

But with Mike Ashley expected to make a rival crisis loan offer, the Rangers support is uniting behind the Park Group in a bid to force the board’s hand.

Houston said: “There has been a phenomenal reaction to this campaign which shows that huge sections of the Rangers support have now reached the end of the line where this board is concerned.
