Getting rid of bench warmers and half time keepy up kings, to free up cash for new blood.

Hopefully the start of a few to leave....

Onwards and upwards

That comes across as a wee bit snide mate, McDonald had some crucial games for us, we knew he was a bit injury prone but he put a good shift in for us. Its debatable how good he would be for the rest of the season, we don't know but you can't doubt what he has done for us and its more than warm a bench.

Peaso started three games in August and scored three goals, including the crucial late winner at St Mirren. He started in our performance of the season against Celtic and was considered our best striker at that time before getting injured. He's only just recovered fitness. I think he could still do a job for us so surprised by the manager's decision to let him go.

He's probably not in the first 6 or 7 that I would have released given the choice but players will only leave if they have something lined up.

For the record I'd release these guys before him: schenk, roberts, dyer, ferry, davo, mcbride, Thomson

Wattie releasing thomson would be a bad move. It would cost a fortune!

Bit harsh. Peaso played a key role last season. Without his goals, including free-kick at livi and that goal on 3rd May, we wouldn't be playing an SPL game tomorrow. I agree it was time for him to move on though.

"Key role last season" and I thank him for that, but taking a wage and not good enough for this league.

Hope he does well in the future.

But we can't hold onto players because they were great in a lower league.

Hopefully his wage will allow for a new face....

I'm guessing he has been released because there is another striker lined up to replace him. Well I would hope so because it could be a very costly mistake if we have just punted one of our proven goal scorers for no real reason.

Business is business unfortunately.

Too long have we sat on the shoulders of sentiment and kept players on because they "played a big role in...." Or were "instrumental in the deefiant season...."
