You can't budget for things you don't know will happen boba so has to be unbudgeted money imo

The league cup draw was made early in the summer was it not so we knew we had a derby at home which would be 99 times out of 100 televised. I'd wager that we budgeted for making it through the group stages though, which was what £10k plus he income from the subsequent knockout tie. All guesswork but just my hunch.

eta, the draw was made on the 2nd of June. So I'd imagine the derby game income would have been budgeted for

The club have already publicly stated they budgeted for a top six finish last season which was not delivered. It was detailed in the statement accompanying the last set of accounts as well I believe.

I think it's reasonable to assume the board do budget for some level of cup run. Hopefully we surpass expectation with these three home ties on the bounce.

As the year progresses the budget would be updated to reflect what has actually happened financially. Would expect that we would not have budgeted for a place in the quarter finals but we will have updated the budget to recognise that we will earn money from our game against Celtic.

If DFC financial Year ran from Aug 10 2016 to Aug 10 2017 then during that time we will have the transfer fee for Stewart (hefty profit on what we paid) and whatever profit we made from the Betfred Cup run 2017 to date (no idea what profit % we make on that). My hunch would be that those 2 alone equate with around £400k - £500k profit. I'd guess 66% of that was budgeted for. Then add on upcoming Celtic game then I'd imagine that over that 14 month period that around £250k of that goes into the 'unbudgeted category'. Take off retrospective crap Scottish cup performance, non Top Six finish and Hartley compensation etc then we are probably exactly on Business Plan 2016-17 targets...but just not in the imagined configuration! And our cashflow is probably healthier...
