Do you honestly believe you are the only person that has arrived at this conclusion having viewed the current plans? Well, you ain’t. Most of us though, recognise that is exactly why the club are currently in discussions with Transport Scotland; attempting to find a solution that works for all. It’s not rocket science to understand that. Do us all a favour. Pour yersel a dram and chill the f*ck out Hi Malbec, Fellow poster Rivers Cuomo asked for my solution which I was happy to give.

Well maybe some or all of the solution ideas you’ve mentioned are being considered. We’ll find out in due course. Until then, give it a rest man. 2

That would allow traffic leaving the stadium and heading east down the Kingsway or into town to use the existing slip road to the Camperdown roundabout whilst traffic heading north towards Birkhill would leave the stadium car park via the access road which currently serves the ice rink, cinema and Premier Inn travelodge. There will still be chaos at the end of the game when everybody is trying to get their car out of the stadium car parks at the same time but at least the traffic heading down the Kingsway will have their own dedicated departure road onto the Kingsway. The current plans have all traffic using the existing slip road onto the Camperdown roundabout You want transport Scotland to build another flyover where exactly? Over the existing slip road?

I replied to a question asked by a fellow poster

From the entrance road to the former main entrance of the NCR Camperdown factory site. This is the road that Dark Blue Holdings showed in their plans for both access and and departure from the proposed stadium car parks on to the A90 at the Kingsway.

Why would transport Scotland put in another flyover 100m down from another flyover? What about the people who live in Dryburgh do you think thy want to see a new flyover from their houses? And can the Kingsway be closed for about a year to build this fantasy flyover just so you can get home quicker?

Hi Rivers, When Dundee City Council purchased the site of the former NCR Camperdown factory and grounds in 1995 they used the existing access road from the rear of the site as the only entrance to the car parks for the cinema and ice rink. There was an obvious reason for this. The Dundee City Council bosses knew that there would be a major problem using the existing access road from the A90 which had been in use since the NCR Camperdown factory opened in the late 1940’s when the Kingsway was a bypass of Dundee and not the main road from Edinburgh and Glasgow to Aberdeen. NCR Camperdown was the flagship factory in Dundee but by 1976 it had been replaced by NCR Gourdie which became the factory where manufacturing took place. NCR Camperdown latterly became a storage site before it finally closed in the early 1980’s. I can remember in 1989 playing bowls against NCR on the bowling green in the NCR Camperdown grounds and we accessed the grounds from the rear access road which is now the only access road to the car park for the ice rink and cinema. What is your solution to the proposed access and departure road of the stadium car parks at the former NCR Camperdown grounds.

The solution is already there, having the one way system proposed by the Americans to allow the continual flow of traffic
