On last night's BBC Reporting Scotland Walter Smith the ex Rangers manager and director stated that he wished that he never got involved with the board of directors of Rangers Football Club.

Walter Smith conveniently omitted to tell the viewers that he received £50,000 in directors fees for the 13 months to 30th June 2013.

According to the directors report in the Rangers Football Club Annual Accounts for the 13 months to 30th June 2013, Walter Smith was appointed a director on 14th December 2012 and resigned as a director on 2nd September 2013.

Therefore Walter Smith received £50,000 for less than nine months work as a director. Nice work if you can get it and it shows one of the reasons why Rangers Football Club are nearly bankrupt.

The same annual accounts show that Charles Green received a total of £933,376 during the same period!
